I see alot of you guys put your magdrive inside your case. I've avoided doing that for the simple reason that I'm afraid of data corruption from the magnetic field coming from the pump.
I held a strong magnet close to my magdrive and I can feel it vibrating up to 8" away from the pump. Any thoughts? I mean if you have your FSB jacked up and your PCI bus is likewise overclocked, I'd think that corruption would be likely if your cables,or drives were in the same area. What about using a 120volt AC fan on a radiator mounted inside? EMF problems? Also, I have a 12voltDC 110mm fan I want to use on my radiator but it won't spin up....it trys, but it just vibrates. any ideas? I put my battery charger on at 6 amps and it still won't go. Any tricks before I shell out 20.00 for a new one?

You can kiss that fan goodbye... (try a voltmeter to check for voltage. If it doesn't work at 12V, it's garbage.)
Throughout all discussions here, I have yet to see someone report better results by moving a 120V AC appliance (i.e. pump) away from the computer/mobo. A magnet held 8" would vibrate. a solid block of copper or aluminium wouldn't. It's not an issue. |

Actually HDs do have magnetic things in them, such as rare earth magets and platter themselves. But they wont notice anyhting. Read that:

Yeah, I dont know of anyone experiencing data corruption from a mag drive pump. Most Ive seen is a little monitor interferance. Unless you are a server needing 100% stability and data protection, I wouldnt worry about it.
My UDMA 100 cables are ~2" from the pump. And besides, Have you ever taken the rare earth magnets out of a hard drive? A 1.5 square centemeter magnet puts out like 50lb of pull! I'd be more worried about them.
