My setup - 3/8 tubing and 1/2 barbs (metal and plastic). I use Tygon 3/8 with thick walls (1/8) for the softness. Should I need the clamps - for metall barbs (a BIX, for example) and plastic barbs (a resevoir)?
Thank everybody. |

I would recommend clamps. You never know when something can slip off.

Don't use EAR clamps. I tried them and over a course of time I decided if they are not installed correctly you will have a leak. Also I would not use a screw type hose clamp as they have a flat spot where the screw is located. Your best bet is to use a spring style clamp. Go to your hardware store and look in the plumbing area. The spring clamp you use a pair of pliers to open the clamp and release the clamp. This style keeps a nice even pressure on the hose. There are two types of spring clamps. Buy the type thats about 1/2" wide. The other is made of spring wire.
