Default Pump fittings

The alphacool AP900 is a tad noisey for me! I have a 10/8mm tubing rig, will I be able to adapt the Swiftech MCP6555 or Eheim 1250 easily?

Thanks TerraMex; the eheim seems to be easily adaptable but the swiftech/laing seems to have a moulded body with tapered or straight tube. Would I have to get a lenght of tube that size then get a reducer to go into that? The reducers never seem to be the right size any ideas where I can get them? I'm in the UK but I'm sure they'd post from most places in the world. TIA

I'd wait if marci has a better ideia (he's from the UK),
but the mcp needs a straight adaptor 1/2"-> 3/8" reducer :
http://www.xoxide.com/bl1to3re.html
or smaller, depends o your tubing.
my mcp600 was supplied with two, dunno about the mcp655.

not sure how it would take the restriction... (mcp 600 used to specifically say not to run with smaller than 3/8" ID tubing/fittings ... the mcp655 just warns against "excessive restriction" (which voids the warranty))

8mm ID sounds pretty restrictive (less than 1/4" ID)

btw is quiet is the aim then an eheim 1048 may be a better bet than a 1250...

These 10mm/8mm is usually for innovatek stuff.
Alphacool has some too, but mainly in 8mm/6mm pushfittings.
i havent seen a mcp655 in a system like that, most users currently get a DDC,
which could be a good bet.
