SNAP 4100 SMART Warning
I've been getting the following message every 2 hours in the morning between 1AM and 7AM on my SNAP 4100:
E Disk Driver : Device 0x10006 SMART warning. Disk (Priv) 4/12/2006 4:47:41 AM I know what a SMART warning is. Is there somewhere in debug where I can have it list more specifics about what is going bad on this particular drive? Appears to be Drive 1 (slot 0). And the perennial question. I currently have 3.4.803 as the OS. How do I get it up to 4.0.860? They're getting ready to install AD here and I know that's going to cause me no end of problems with the current OS. I have the 4.0.860 upgrade from Adaptec, but it appears I need an earlier version of 4.0.x in order to install it. Any settings I can change in debug to make it think it already has a version of 4.0.x running on it, so the upgrade will install? Thanks for any help. |

Re: SNAP 4100 SMART Warning
I don't know that there is anywhere you can get that info off of a snap. If the drive is failing I would replace it and then stick the bad drive in a normal PC. I believe the BIOS in most PC motherboards will give you more info on what is going on with that drive.
