You mean the O-ring channel? That depends on the size of the O-ring.

ahh mr. slug well i think i'm gonna end up milling the plastic instead of the copper for the oring...but now im stuck on the top i dunno how i should make it i wanna do jets.... i have like a diamond area on the baseplate with holes drilled very closely together hrm lack of sleep isnt helping the thought process

so is the reason for restricting the flow on a block to let more heat tranfer into the water rather then just recirculating the water like a car thermostat does? err well in a car its more for cooling the water before it goes back into the engine

Restriction is solely for increased turbulence. You need turbulence to break up laminar flow regions that inhibit optimal thermal conduction from the copper to the water.
