Has anyone seen or used the Z4 waterblock at CPUFX? Is it any good?

There was a topic a while ago. Everyone trashed it for some clueless remarks on the site about copper and for having narrow inlets IIRC. I haven't seen any actuall tests of it.

basically, the Z4 sucks, and it is made by a really bad company. Just stay away from it as much as possible

OK, mine arrived today...and I decided not to use it. First, the mounting mechanism requires me to take out my motherboard again ( I'm using a MAZE2 now with steel bolts through the holes. The really bad part is that it's puny. There is no way in hell that this is going to out-perform a MAZE2. The channel is tiny, and it doesn't look like there is good thermal conduction between the copper bottom and the Al top. It does have 1/2" fittings, but the inlet and outlet are larger than the maze channels in the block.

In a way, it's very unfair to harsh on a block that I haven't tested, but it just seems so obvious from looking at it that I'll get better results with a Dtek or Danger Den block. Relegated to my block drawer. More dinero down the drain in my qwest for better temps I can't wait for a scientific test of all these water blocks.

if you already own a maze2 I wouldn't be running out buying new blocks, I doubt you'll see much better for quite some time.

Hook it up!!! see what it can do, or send it to me and I will test it and send it back. I will pay postage both ways. I am very curious of how the thing works. I am also interested in the fact they use copper and Al together as that is supposed to be bad? I have never figured out why as my systems have always been mixed. Brass fitting on the Al block, copper radiators and al blocks. Not as big a deal as I think it is made out to be.
