Configure SNAP Server Email notification

I have a placed my Snap server in a co-located data center and have it connected to the Internet and I intend to use it for FTP use.

I am having problems getting the Email notification working.

I just get an error saying "Unable to Send Mail"

Does anyone know what the restrictions are on making this work?

Well... I did not or was not able to get it fixed the way that it should work according to the documentation, but we made a change to the mail server which takes the Email from the Snap server and auto forwards it to my Gmail email account which is what I wanted.

At any rate it is working now and that is what is important.

Yeah... I am starting to think that the Guardian units just offer more flexibility than the Snap OS units do. If Adaptec would have continued the development of the Snap OS, then maybe it would offer some adidtional features and address some of the issues in the final version of the Snap OS.

I can understand that Snap has moved away from the Snap OS over to the Guardian OS, but it is still hard for me to just want to give up on my Snap OS units as they have served me well over all.

Progress must continue and at some point I will move over to a new Guardian OS unit. I guess it is just a fact of life at this point.
