The thing about this case is that it is so tall, it almost is as tall is my desk. So USB ports on the top of it would be very nice. Here is what I got after a few minutes with a drill and a knife:

It'll be interesting to see what's going into all that space.

Plenty of room for water cooling gear. Hell you could fit a small phase change in that bastard!

Exactly! Bet I could even fit two But deffinately room for a chiller anyway if I head in that direction. I may be getting two more radaitors, each holds two 120MM fans. I am now thinking of fitting my car heatercore in the top of the case and have it suck air from the top and exaust it out the back. The two 240 radaitors I plan to put in the front or maybe on the sides. Right now I assume that the two 240s will offer better preformence than the heatercore so I will use those for the processor. The heater core I think should be able to cool my video card and northbridge well. The system will have two pumps and will only connect at the reservoir. (Custom made (and no that dose not mean that it will be really good looking ) I tons of plexi around here so so ducts won't be a problem. I got my first new PSU today since 2005. I have to say I am greatly impressed. It is absolutely silent and I can barely feel any air coming out but it isn't even warm to the touch. It has two 17 amp rails of 12V that both peak at 408 watts (NICE )

Well a few days ago I decided to start cutting for the top heatercore. It was just a bit too thick and because of that I had to mod the case a little. The case has an internal only 5.25 bay which is useless unless I buy a hard drive cooler or cut out the back so I can put a CD drive there so I got rid of it.

Its got a bit left but I plan to use a hack saw and save some time over the dremel.

well i ran an air cooled test run today and instantly OC'd her from 2.1 to 2.4 with no problems So I have the x3210 (the quad xeon), 2 gigs of kingston crap ram (to be replaced by some nice 800 MHz ram) and the 8800GT. My pump is set to arrive tomorrow and I was pleased to receive a new dermel set for christmas so expect more working shots of the case in the near future. Happy hollidays,
Ben

Is that a good compressor for phase change cooling?

I bet it'd make a good single stage. I would just build a phase change but now I can have a frosty GPU and NB if I want to. Also I can add another compressor later into my loup.

Says 5238 BTU/Hr. That should work pretty good. If nothing else a water chiller.

yeah I think a water chiller is what I'm going to do. And I also have a 168 watt pelt. if that helps my quad then he gets it. might be too low, but i'll check intel's site.

sweet, there can never be overkill when you're cooling a computer...
i mean why spend $50 for great air cooling when you can spend $3-400 for water cooling!

Yeah. One thing for sure a $20 compressor will kick the ass of any $50 air heatsink! lol

tried oc further yet? i'd love to know how far you can push that chip
i've seen 3.0 to 3.2 on the q6600
and what's the multiplier set at? that could be a big oc limitation...

thanks

well when I mentioned a chiller to a couple of guys they actually told me to get another mobo over the IP35e. They said it might not do 500 FSB and I guess that means that I should expect more than 4 GHz from this chip Then again, a couple of really lucky guys can do 3.6 on air. I my self am interested to see what happens. I have also had a lot of new ideas to "share" the cooling in this rig. I might start on some now or maybe save it for the projects page Now I discovered that (or at least the guys at XS said) that phase change cooling and water chilling takes a bit more research that I think I have time to do right now so I think I will just modify a window AC unit.

Good news everyone! I picked up a cheap celeron 2.7 GHz for overclocking fun and my new motherboard will come soon. For a little while I will need to run the rig on regular water or maybe water with dry ice cooling the radiator. I hope to jump back on this project around march and finish it by the summer. In case you guys think I've been doing nothing I have been saving it for the write up

well might be ordering a phase change cooler in the next two weeks. If so, good chance you'll see some more modding soon Funny I made this thread back in November, I can never stay on task lol.
