What is your goal? Quiet?
What is your budget? Generally water cooling can be quiet, effective or inexpensive. ...choose any two! Using a small, HTPC case will make all three more difficult.

Re: micro atx build , some ??'s and advice please
Well silence , I really don't care for , lol my mid tower gamin rig sounds like a jet so I'm used to it....ehhh mainly I figured watercooling would work more efficient in a small place (correct me if I'm wrong) ...secondly as in budget I reallllly would like to stay under $200 but if I must then whatever ill stretch the budget........
ive never overclocked before , so i want to start , im just scared to do it without the right stuff , (sufficient cooling and etc) Last edited by superrican; 02-03-2009 at 10:29 AM. |

Quote:
Cooling only becomes an issue when you start overvolting things, and that isn't necessary for a mild to perhaps high overclock. And, anyway, all modern CPUs will either thermal throttle, or just plain shut down, on overheat (to keep them from doing damage to themselves). And a massive overclock on an HTPC would only lead to a lot of fan noise, even with water cooling. Read some overclocking "stickies" on the various overclocking forums and give it a try. But, don't use any overclocking "utilities, learn to overclock in the BIOS.
