I need some help!
I bought what I thought was a snap2200 wirh a single 320meg drive. When I boot the drive I can find the admin page and change settings until the system light starts to rapid blink, then it locks up. The config says there are no drives present... but it says it's checking the share and stalls on 5%. Clicked on the logo and this is the report I get> Model Software Hardware Server # BIOS 2000 series 4.0.860 (US) 2.0.4 813505 3.4.758 Do I have a 2200 or a 2000? Also if I take my snap1000 drive and install it as the "second" in the 2200 will it be able to read the files?? |

With NO HD install and you have access to the admin you have a 2000. With NO HD the unit will not even boot if a 2200 and will give a error code between the HD and sys leds.
The 2200 is a lower profile Black case and has a power pack. The 2000 uses a std power cable. From the admin page you should beable to see what HD's are installed. Panic Alarms indicates somthing very wrong, in you case maybe NO HD. If your 1000 unit is dead, you can try. Normally I do not recommend mixing hardware classes. The 1000 is the same class as a 2000. 1100's and 2200 are the odd ball units when it comes to SnapOS units. Mixing 1000 and 2200 may work provided it is setup for JBOD and is booting on the main HD, with the 1000 as a slave/second HD.

Ok .. It won't boot without the HD but the Drive status page does not show a drive installed and it locks up when the sys light starts a rapid flash....
I just want to install the drive from the 1000 as a second drive to pull some files off of it... I don't have an img for the 2200... I do for the 1000 .... any ideas on how to make the 2200 work? |

If you have access to the admin page see if you can see what the HD config is. If raid0 change it to JBOD. If no drive is setup and a HD is installed I would re-install the OS. There is a link resently to overland site.
Apparently the OS is there for it is booting. Make a copy of the boot tracks, instruction in the wiwi part of this forum. I'm thinking the 2200 may have been setup in raid0 and 1 drive is AOL, generating the panic. The 1000 HD will not work to boot the 2200, Not a good idea to install it. Read the FAQ's on the 1000 and 2200 so you will know the differences. link in my sig.

Blue,
I thought that Overland wouldn't provide a copy of the OS??? I'll see what I can find of the Admin page, but in drive status it shows "no drive present" but it must see the boot sector or I couldn't get to the config scrn. Where do i find the Overland link? I did a seach and came up empty.. Thanks |
