Ok Just got back from watching it on the UltraScreen at West Town in Waukesha. Got in line at 8:30am for the 11:30am showing. Was prolly 50 - 75th in line at that time in the morning. I got 3 of my friends to skip out of work to come and see it.
The movie is a freaking blast! It has a ton of character development in it that sets the stage for an extremely cool EP3. The dialog was so so... but none the less was better than the kindergarden EP1 level. The Battle Scene... OMFG... It was bar none the most awesome battle scene I have ever seen. Seeing it on a THX Cert Auditorium, on a 75ft screen was a RUSH. There are a TON of things to take note of in the movie since now you can start to see some stuff sticking out that we all know in EP 4,5,6. Jango Fett, and Yoda are 2 total bad ass's Lucas did the movie right this time, While I know some people said it was "blah" I think if they looked at the Starwars story as a whole, this movie fit in perfectly ( unlike EP1 which looked like a fruity coloring book gone wrong) Getting advanced tickets for Saturday to go and see it again.

I agree with Joe, Episode II is pimp.
10x better than Episode I, and Yoda is a beast. The last 40 minutes is all really intense, and all the foreshadowing is really cool. Lots of scenes seem to be taken right out of Empire, but that kind of makes it cool somehow. Less Jar Jar, and more Threepio who is freakin hilarious. Even got some of the good ol' sarcasm, though it's not quite as high quality as Han Solo's. Some people might not like me for this, but I think I enjoyed it even more than the old trilogy... maybe. It is definitely at least the same quality. Despite bad reviews I have read, I thought the movie was amazing! GO SEE IT!!

Haddy, you dont think thats not on purpose? all of it?
Here is my take ( this may be a spoiler so dont read any lower if you havent seen EP2) Jango Fett was the templates for all the clone solders. Which were ordered by the Jedi's. yet Jango was ALSO on Count Dooku's group building the droid army to battle the Jedi. So heres what I think ( and from the comments that everything is going to plan that the emperor made at the end I think is right): The entire plan for the droid army was to draw out the Clones and Jedi. Since the Sith has control of the Senate and the Clones it now puts them in perfect position for the empire to start to form, and take those clones and they will soon turn into imperial soldiers. So whats being seen as the good guys now... turn out to be the bad guys in the next movie. The Sight of the Death Star in EP2 was like "WHOA...." I didnt expect to see anything about it till EP3. Basicly in EP2 you see the formation of the empire start. And the "Seperatists" will turn out to be the rebels.

Saw the 8.30 session on the 16th. Liked it. Alot. 82% is my rating.
+ action scenes + special effects (CG was awsome, but unfortunately overused) + yoda!!! + space chase scene (except for the whole sound in space thing! ![]() + that cool blue drink ben drank in the bar + jango with his helmet on + very starwarsy (e.g. 3po's wisecracks, young jedis in training, yoda fight scene + irony (e.g. obi to anakin - "you'll be the death of me, Anakin" - jango with his helmet off (ugh.....cheezy, crass, not what a bounty hunter should be) - soppy romance aspect, almost painful to sit through, so forced the dialogue was - dialogue in general - cinematography (for the most part was VERY good (see above), but more wide angle shots of the battle scenes and saber duels were necessary.) - too much CG (transition in the poppy field scene with Anakin and Amidala was too marked, yoda's movement didn't really work as it should have) - threepio's wisecracks (head to body - "oh my goodness, i'm beside myself!" hehehe. I've mentioned a fair few critcisms, and I'll add to both once I see it again. Bottom line is, however, the ep2 r0x0rz IMHO! 82% is a VERY high rating for me, and as soon as my ears stop ringing (the volume was set on MAX or somethin in the cinema - the air literally vibrated when a shuttle went past.....bass baby) I'm going to see it again. |

hell yea, i just saw it on the westtown ultrascreen... IT KICKED ASS
i was never a starwars fan before, but now i am. my only complaint was the sound... all the vocals seemed to constantly be distant sounding... not full and directional.. this may have been the theater since alot of the WI theaters i have been to have crappy sound systems... but yea... GO SEE IT, IT IS AWSOME!!!! |

![]() I didn't realize we such a high-brow community that we can't discuss the pleasures of DIVX. ![]()
