Default Question about Adobe Acrobat..

My fraternity has a huge box of all sorts of exams from various classes. I'd like to digitize them and "file" them online. Adobe Acrobat is the software that will let me scan them and save them as PDF files right? Is there a cheaper way?

You could always "find" a copy.

Yeah haha I know.Actually the fraternity will pay for the software. I'm just makingsure Adobe Acrobat will actually do that before I buy it. That's what the software does.... right?

Adobe Acrobat includes a handy program called the "Acrobat Distiller", which acts as a printer for any windows app, so if you can make something and print it, you can have it as a PDF. So you'd scan everything and paste the images into a word document and distill it into a PDF (which you can edit in Acrobat).

If it's in handwriting, this is the way to go, if they are computer printed an OCR program would probably be the better way to go.

Why waste your fraternity's money, when you can just go swimming into the dark underbelly of the internet, and _find_ a copy lying in a dark pool of filth.

Thanks for all the info, guys. Whether I find one or aquire one with money, I see how it will work. Do you know if the distiller is in the older versions of Adobe Acrobat?

I can answer this one...
You can get the distiller from ZDnet.
