Default cross-drilled wb question

I am going to make a xjinn, crossdrilled style waterblock. The obvious choice for the material is CU 110, which i am planning to purchase from dangerden. What dimensions should i make the metal. I am planning to drill 1/2" holes for the large ones and i am not sure about the size of the smaller holes. Also what number of rows would give me the best heat transfer

Sorry, I missed this thread.
Try this link, I tried to make it, you'll find some good info from the guys with experience in machining/drilling.
Good luck!

Well, I might be talking out of my @ss here, but you have to determine your mounting configuration before you can order materials - if you're going 4 mobo hole mounting, you probably want 50-60mm X 75-80mm stock. Given that you want 1/2" "manifolds", you're probably looking at ordering 3/4" thickness. So there you go, for 4 hole mtg. : 2"x3"x.75"; for "clip" mounting: 2"x2"x.75".

As to the size and number of the X-drilled channels, the rule is as small, as many, as close together as you can make them. 2-3 rows high, staggered.

Check out the sweet semi-see-thru block here!

Nice one Bob, yours?

2 rows is pretty good. Anything more isn't worth the trouble.

Diameter: as small as you can make it. Do take the time to search through here, there are tips...

I've seen a block like that...but they copper soldered pieces over the smaller channel drill holes.

Here is a REALLY old one that is similar:
