Default ProCooling/OCWC Box

lots of sites have been doing special cases to show off. since procooling and OCWC work togeather so much, it would be cool to make a joint box, one thats a work of art inside and out. by my calculations an OCWC res/pump and 4x4 radiator w/120mm fan would fit inside and up against the front panel of an antec sx830 or 1030 if you remove the extra drive cage. mod the sucka and paint it and you'v god one hell of a beautiful case. put a silver polyblock and some of that blue or green dye in and nothing would ever come close!

I've heard of that Bose Einstine Condensate... is that the material that can slow the speed of light?

And thats a great idea... now that I have some free time it may be worth investigating

Bose-Einstein Condensate is a state of matter like solid liquid or gas but it's so cold (0 degrees absolute), that all electron movement has stopped. a few degrees warmer and you'd have the fastest comp ever!

I thought cooling stuff to absolute 0 was almost impossible on earth. Also if something is cooled to Abs. 0 its totally black as there is no relfection on the surface right? It turns almost entirely into a mass of nothing, As there is no movement of electrons.

I think a certain form of the Bose-Einstien Condensate is what they used for the light slow down deal. pretty cool they could slow light down to like 30 meters a second.

they have almost done it. they got pure hydrogen to within something like 1/2 a degree away, it became a solid and a super-conductor, like that black fabrick from the ringworld series by larry niven

I beleive your right Joe, we can not reach Absolute Zero on earth. Absolute Zero is apx. -450 degrees F. or 0 kelvin. Experiments have come close, Liquid helium has been cooled to 90 microK (a "microkelvin" is 10-6 K). I think that pretty damn close to Absolute Zero though...

they use a formula (PV=nRT or PVmm=GRT)P=pressure v=volume n=moles mm= molecular mass g=grams r = .0821grams/degrees kalvin/1 atm/1 mole so if you want the temperature you plug in temp= pres.x vol.x moler mass / grams x r

I think he meant a box to buy. a pre built and tested cooling machine they all they do is throw the hardware in and go.

Cool idea actually.

NO i meant that it should be like [H]ard ocp's [H]ard box you know, it would say procooling and OCWC on the front, and it have a cool blue and silver paint job.(to match the pro site)

You guys, I heard that absolute zero is impossible to reach on Earth because in some way, the material will be connected to something else, and something else, etc. to the center of the earth. Scientists have gotton within a billionth of a *F, but no closer.

well suspending the matter in a magnetic field so it is NOT in contact with anything would work... but then it makes it extremely hard to cool something withought contacting it.
