I stepped out to do a few errands this morning, was gone around an hour and a half...... When I stepped into the shop I heard the unmistakable rattle of a Mag-Drive running dry. WTF ? I instantly shut the power down to the PC and pump and tried to figure out what happened.
Came to find out my return line to my reservoir pulled out of the container and discharged water all over my bench. CPU temp reading my under chip thermistor was 38c at the time I shut it down. PC was in standby mode at the time ,so I figure that and the copper block saved my chip. Glad I didn't stay gone too long.....

i had a similar incident, just the other day. i reset the defaults on my BIOS and not remembering that the event wake up was enabled i let for a short time to sit and watch tv. the phone rings, meanwhile the dryer is running. i did not hear my comp come on when the phone rang. (the power cable was not hooked up so the pump would not turn on)
later i approach the comp only to find it on (oh, SH*T!). I rush to shut her down, then feal the copper waterblock to check the temp. the WB was still cool so i was lucky. i turned it back on knowing the pump would not work to change the BIOS settings. I was lucky! the reasion i had no power cable is because i am simply short one in my house. havn't gone to get one yet, so the cables get shared periodically.
