OMG High Temps, hehe

My computer room went up to over 120F yesterday. It was only about 93F outside. I am finally tired of this crap (I estimate I have over 1000W of heat being dumped into the air) so I installed four 10" fans in my window. Two of them (lower two) are intakes and two of them (upper) are exhausts. Now, my computer room stays only about 10F over ambient, which is bearable. I damn near fainted while doing a Planetside marathon yesterday. It sucked quite bad.

While my setup was really nice last winter when it singlehandedly heated my house, I can only imagine what would have happened if I would have let it stay as it is when the temps pushed past 100F ....

Yeah it was a toasty one yesterday. I also had a reading of 95 outside. My bedroom in my Apt is the only room with A/C. Well, my three D.F. crunchers are in that room and I am sleeping in the living room.

Good thing I live alone.......I guess......

I once got distracted while I was tightening one of my WB onto a P4 1500. I forgot to finsih when I got back and just started her up. It seemed slightly sluggish until I entered UT when it just restarted, then it randomly restarted again at the login prompt.

When I entered the bios I noted the CPU temp was in the 80s. Thankfully P4s have decent thermal protection.

I dunno Airspirit: I'm starting to see a repeat of one of those Terminex TV commercial

For those outside the US, that's an extermination service, and they've been running TV ads where a person has their whole house made of:

-concrete, including furniture

-ice, also including the furniture

-lights everywhere (must wear eye protection)
***
-fans (must hold on to subway style handles to move around)
***

(in 4 different commercials)

Ahhh memories... I was in Scotland over the winter when the heating finally gave up. We had a month where there was no heating AT ALL and it was snowing at the time. (Add that to the fact my window COULD NOT shut properly).

Anyway my Computer splendily did keep my room above freezing and I have it to thank for keeping me alive.

Now we have moved, (Same city) my room keeps over heating thanks to my computer.... you just can't win can you?

I've tallied the current airflow through my house now (due to the fact that my hallway and living room is now a fan shroud) at around 2000 CFM (closer to 2200 CFM when my AC is on). My back room stays nice and cool now, though.

This arrangement does have its drawbacks, however. If you guys could see the amount of flypaper I have up to catch the beasties that take advantage of the extra entryways you would crack up.

I will not be satisfied until my entire house sounds like a 747.
