this is probably a highly extremist way to cool , and i imagine dangerous too, (prolly better off getting a fridge for it) but why not cover the bits around the die with thin layer of glue or insulating stuff, then attach a plastic thing on top so that the water directly hits the cpu die, sorta like this
![]() im assuming this will be a whole lot more effective then a block but i may be wrong here any comments?

The problems outweigh the benefits.
Problems: #1 If the water isn't pumping BEFORE you turn it on, the chip will mostlikely die. #2 It will be extremely hard to get it to work properly. #3 The 'glue' that holds the chip on there is water permeable, you'll have to find a way to insulate it from water, without retaining heat. #4 Water running over the top of the chip will eventually erode the DIE to nothing. Benefits: #1 1-2* C better cooling than the best WB out there... That's it. |

"1-2* C better cooling than the best WB out there..."
This project shows how well direct die cooling can perform: http://www.upload.cooling-store.de/Fluidus/V1/start.htm The best temperature difference he could reach with a commercial waterblock was 26,7°C, the best direct die cooler reached 5,7°C. To avoid the other problems Phant0m51 mentioned i currently try this one: http://www.wakuebau.de/index.php3?up...9&lower_cat=21 The hole in the bottom is a bit smaller than a T-Bred B die. I applied the cooler with Silvergrease, the leak test ran for 7 days now and i didn't recognize any problems. |

No its not. We only filter one word on the forum. Using vulgarities as a personal insult though is not good. Its up to the Mods discretion on whether to allow the attacks stand or remove them based on the content and productivity of the thread.
I removed them in this case, and he’s been Banned. |
