paul, doesn't water in the UK have a minimum calcium level? (I swear I heard this from you) That makes bottled water "unfit" for human consumption but better for our purpose.

I drink distilled water because it just tastes so much better, not for safety purposes... (living just outside city water, well water tastes horrible)
Distilled water leeches nutrients from your body and is actually quite dangerous to drink long term.

And actually our water quality is pretty good down here. It's enriched with Fluoride so our teeth don't go yellow like the people in Europe.
English beer is probably about as strong - you'd be thinking of america forweak beer. ;p
Also our water has flouride added too, UK mains water is of very high quality in my experience, it's certainly never yellow.

Yep Flouride, makes your teeth white... and kills your immune system.

Nice one. You have to wonder about fluoride. I was at a water treatment plant, where they spilled a bunch on the concrete. They ended up having to replace the concrete. The stuff is no good in large quantities. I think another reason they use it is that it helps to keep the pipes clean. (me thinks) But if your not getting enough from your tap water you can always bet you will get a little from the good old Teflon pan. Hell I think they still recommend that women in their early 20's use iron pans to help prevent anemia. Maybe we can start obtaining nutrients from all those pesticides on our veggie’s. mmmmmm, more pesticides please.

Flouride in small doses helps strengthen tooth enamel in addition to making teeth whiter, what other long term effects on the body it has is another question.

Yea, but thats when applied topically, not when ingested. That's why on your toothpaste, it says "If more than used for brushing is swallowed, get medical help or contact poison control right away." And why kids under age 6 are not supposed to use fluoride toothpaste.
