I've a question here regarding asking pH to test one of these blocks that cool memory and all.
How is pH to test it? His die sim can't be used with it. And do we expect him to go out and buy a new vid card to test with? Not realistic. If Silverprop doesn't come through for pH then I'll paypal pH the funds to buy one of the Fusion HL blocks for this test. I will of course ask that it be forwarded to me when such testing is done. Don't know if this thread is going anywhere with regard to getting GPU block data but its something I'd be interested in so,
I have new D-tek GPU block that I'll send if its of interest. Probably not as good as Maze4, Silverprop etc but that's what the objective is isn't it - to find out how good they work in different systems? On a side note, if its so difficult to find flow resistance data for CPU blocks how could you predict how the GPU blocks will affect the flow in the system and work out which would be best for your system anyway?

How about a update on this?
pH, were you able to get a Fusion from Silverprop to include? Any other blocks you've decided to include in the testing & comparison? Thanks ![]() |

An update sounds good. The Canadian Silverprop retailer was out of stock, so I contacted Jeremy at Silverprop for a sample. He agreed to send a CPU and GPU block, but ETA on new stock for them is ~2 weeks too. I have 2 9600XTs that were donated by forum members (thanks guys) and are in the mail to me now. I want to use these vid cards because their diode output can easily be logged with ATITOOL or MBM. They also have pretty "typical" mounting so old and new wbs should work on them. I asked Danny at DTek for a GPU block but again I believe they are in between designs and don't want to send an EOL part (if they even have any) for testing.

sounds good derek. but any word from polarflow. I know you have not had much luck in the past with them, but there was a recent review at a site that I wont mention that was basicly a 5 page polarflow gpu block advertisement. So we (guys over at XS) would like to see a review of that block done. If polarflow wont send you one, we might be able to gather up some money togehter and get you one.

Thanks very much for the update Derek. I'm very glad to hear that the Fusion will be included in this testing.
As the Maze 4 and Fusion are available with Brass tops that's the pair I'm most interested in. I already have a Fusion, but I'd like to see the differance in max flow rates vs lowest temps of these two blocks. If I've errored in my selection for best overall performance I want to know before I make my next system in about 2 months. Thanks again! ![]() |

I have a Fusion HL lying around here waiting for something to cool, so if you need it, you can borrow it. Only problem is I'm off on the other side of the world in NZ. When are you planning on doing the actual testing?
