Even better, they tested it on the same motherboard you're planning on getting.
I got some Geil pc4000s that went to 270 2.5 3 3 7 1t on my amd64 rig (msi neo2). Way way higher than the spd timings. Best of all, they were dirt cheap. I think newegg stocks them, or they are possibly cheaper elsewhere. They are going to be my memory vendor from now on. Probably a third cheaper than corsair, and better performance too.

In the motherboards section > Athlon64 boards. S'not hard...

http://store.over-clock.com/Athlon64...oards.html#a39
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Socket_939.html
http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/...roductid=18294
http://www.chillblast.com/customer/p...roductid=16793
http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=603876

Every UK Online Store I check, there it is, in the motherboards > athlon64 section...

£110 is CHEAP for an SLI-DR over here in the UK. You want better prices than those, get a trade account with one of DFI's Distributors and buy 50x to get decent bulk discount, then sell 49 of em.

also, where did you bought that DFI from? cause my next upgrade wil be a 640 with either AS8 Abit or that DFI and haven't found the DFI anywhere here in UK.

Cheers, and good luck with 5Ghz!, that would be a record on water!

Memory is Vitesta A-Data 4000, will do about 280 with 2.9v 1:1. I got the mobo from www.newegg.com but it seems the 875P-T has been discontinued...

Stable? Well, kind of (which in my book means no). P95 ran for 20 mins, no failure there, however, my Zone Alarm Pro hosed itself... all my settings got reset and erased. Not sure if that could be a ram limitation or what, but again P95 did not fail, granted it was only 20 minutes. No I won't run 24/7 at that speed, not comfortable with that but 4.5 - 4.6 is 24/7 FAH/P95 stable with reported load temps at 41-42C in 75F room.

MadHacker, yes I would consider this CPU not just lucky, but a GEM. Byron, Vcore was set to 1.55v for 4983, vagp to 1.8 and vdimm to 2.9.

I should add that for my 24/7 speed which is 4523Mhz (FAH too) vcore is 1.45, vdimm 2.8 and vagp to 1.7

That is awesome...
I can't get my 3.2Ghz s478 to run stable at 3.8Ghz
perhaps it is time to sell it and find a diffrent CPU...

should probably upgrade to prescott/LGA 775 if you want a chance at 4+ ghz. socket
478 is held back by power restraints.
