They'll be at the least the same price as the current HE Series, and at the most, £4 more expensive.

Teach? Whoever you want to blame, US schools aren't exactly rigorous.

P.S. I blame Lowest common denominator teaching caused by giving all control to the govt instead of having informed parents be in charge of the teachers. Heck, we've gotten to the point that even if the parents were in charge, it wouldn't help.

Why do you think the government is control in the first place? I have traveled the USA and seen many many types of families of different races and religions and do not want any of them in charge of the schools. Young parents these days are less responsible than some of their own kids......

There. Can I go get drunk now??! (heh - I already did - spent this weekend at Butlins with a few thousand bikers getting well n truly blotto'd with Slade & Dr and the Medics... oo-er)
Will have a full set on the way to Cathar tomorrow for final test results drawing up on the production models rather than be chelping on about prototype results... Begun talks with BillA for some testing last week, will get that underway soon as he gives me the nod...!

So... give it a week or two for proper performance figures.

Will post some better piccies / detail piccies within next hr or so - batteries ran out in the camera...

Wow, looking good...
Initially surprised by the depth though, even deeper than the HE series? Otherwise it is hard to notice any differences from the HEs. Looks to be same number of channels through as well.
Looking forward to more shots.

Oh aye... final pricing worked out at £1.50 over the current HE Series... Note they are slightly wider than the HE Series also, which means current Performance Shrouds won't fit them unless you're prepared to bend the shroud slightly before hand. The rad is the exact same width as the shroud... whereas previous HE Series rads were 1mm narrower.

Seems to be a bit less restrictive than the HE series? (Just guessing, but is it? It seems like it seeing all those fins)

All in all, that looks nice so far.

From the link: http://www.thermochill.com/pa1203.php
Quote:
The PA Series boasts from 10-40% better performance over the HE Series. 10% for the high / noisy airflow end of the fan market, and up to 40% for the low airflow / silence end of the market.
Can I safely assume the same level of improvement for a PA120.2 over a HE120.2? BillA never did any 120.3 numbers in his famous review, but did plenty of HE120.2 testing.

Eg: from the link on your site, graph 14 here: http://www.overclockers.com/articles778/index04.asp

So, when you say the airflow/silence crowd, I'd assume you mean Papst 4312L @ 7V, which for us would mean C/W values around 0.09.

So, 40% better means that C/W drops to around 0.05?

That's a pretty serious improvement....

Yep... basically... Cathar will be able to explain it better than I. PA120.1 & 120.2 were finished today and put up for retail... so will have a set off to Cathar so he can get figures from the final production models.

PA120.3 ordered and heading this way. Looking forward to see how it perform with two fans pulling air from across a rad box.

Has anyone had any experience with the Aerocool Turbine fan?
http://www.aerocool.us/p-accessory/t...bine%20fan.htm

I have a couple of Papst 4412FGL and just wondering if I should make the switch if I can lower the noise down.

Has anyone had any experience with the Aerocool Turbine fan? Or even tried it on the PA160?
http://www.aerocool.us/p-accessory/t...bine%20fan.htm

It seems like a good canditate because of the extra fins for better pressure through the rad but not sure if it would be necessary for the PA120 because of it's low air restriction.

I do already have a couple of Papst 4412 F/2GL, but just wondering if I should make the switch if I can lower the noise down and benefit with more airflow through it.

No experience and not tried here... it's advantages would be seen more on a HE rad over a fan of similar cfm due to increased pressure, but I'd be inclined to say they'd be of little advantage on the PA series over standard fan same spec less pressure... again, Cathar's been doing the testing and has run several fans over the PA160 so would likely have more to add...

Been thinking about getting one of these fans, but moreso because of the apparant quietness factor than anything else.

Static pressure of these fans is ~0.9mmH2O, which for a claimed 37.5cfm fan is no more or no less than what we'd expect it to be is relation to fans with less blades.

So I'll probably be better off staying with my Papst 4412 F/2GL's?

Also is there anywhere I can find these in Canada?
I would like to buy a couple with shrouds.
