I linked this over at Ars. Adjecent thread here:
http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenT...5&m=5370911463

Anyway Joe, be sure to post what happens. Chip made some cool stuff along the way and if he would have answered my emails I probably would have got my gear from him instead of DD and DTek.

Mr. Thompson - It isn't that it will change his status in the business, but it will show that he is a man who can accept responsibility for his actions. I have always thought Chip was merely a child in a man's body and if his reaction to all of this is anything like I think it will be, that's just more confirmation.

I thought you guys might be interested in this email. I dont know exactly what was meant, but here it is. Chip wrote this to me last night. Also, I dont like that big confidentiality paragraph. It seems wierd.

Geez. Share a fax number with a business associate & the whole world freaks out.

Screw it.

I quit.

Thanks!

Actually he sent me a self-destructing message a while back (which I never got to read...) that said in the title :

"you scum sucking little weasel"

Anyways, if anyone could direct me to legal bureaus where I could file for fraud or the like, along with 5-10 of you I'm sure we could have something done...

For one I know a company which Chip owes ALOT...just their complaint would really influence legal actions.

Yeah it was Chrome plated, I am just bitter I didn't get a nice shiny black one.

Unfortunately, back in September when I ordered, CoolPC didn't have any 1/2" BI's, so I went with OCWC for the modded version.

Oh well, time to get on with life and watercooling my Chilli Pro...

janni, objectively speaking, those chromeplated rads cost more.

I am a tad baffled however, where those 3/8" hose connectors are from??? Might you have gotten a Chromeplated Black Ice Prime?

But it is troubling that people aren't getting what they ordered shortly after they ordered.

Well, this really upsets me!

I purchased a BI II Modded and $200 worth of accessories last October, and they have yet to be delivered. I..I..I'm just speachless. I think I will post the e-mail correspondance (what little I did receive) and let the messages speak for themselves.
I will post them tomorrow once I'm back at work and on my main computer. Please pay due attention to the last message I sent to Chip, It pretty much conveys what my feelings were about two weeks ago. Now after reading this thread, I see my worst fears have merit.

What do I do now?

But of course the real irony of this all is:

I made my purchases based upon the reviews and linkage on Procooling. After having bought a Koolance Case, I thought I would trying my hand at building my own watercooled system based roughly on the same design. Now, it seems everyone else is doing the same thing. (BI II at the top of case, one 120mm intake just below in back of case, 2 120mm output on top of case with rad/fans compartmentalized "separate" from the rest of the case). All the modifications have been done to the case. All I was waiting on was the BI2 modded and the accessories.

Now I'm without my product, my money and my (at the time) original idea. But, I'm still stuck with this now worthless modded case. What am I going to do now?

Uhh. I think I'm gonna

Hey man, I know... its ironic and sad...

Not only were you mislead, but I was also. Thats why I am being so proactive and agressive in dealing with this. That asshole took advantage of too many people and I want to do everythign I can to stop that bottom feeder from re-surfacing under another scam name in the future.

I just got this from chip.

As there seems to be a "Conspiracy of Smear" afoot, orchestrated by procooling & HWLabs,
I will probably set up the website as information only until they have both been dragged through the court system till they bleed.

That IS what I do for a "real" living. Sue people & collect debts.

Thanks!

Hmm, this is an interesting development.

You'd think taking someone to court would expose OCWC more - re: connections to WatercooledCPU.com...

No big deal. I was merely pointing out the other side of the coin. Sorry if it was misleading

Oh no!! sue???
hehe yeh right.

Derraa that's pretty funny

I like how he sends his game plan to some customer, and doesn't even talk to the people hes screwed. But that sounds about right for chip...

It sucks, but I have gone over this with my parent's attorney, and I have all the paperwork to back up every claim I have made. And I have around 200 people who will back me up on the claims that he has stolen money from them. There are a lot of people looking to get money back from that bitch. Off hand it's in the 10,000$ range from adding up all the emails from suppliers and customers. So chip, if you want to take it to court, have some fun. Ironic that you will be taking HwLabs to court using money you owe them to pay for it...

I wonder if I am the only one who find it interesting that derraa is the only person who is getting any email replies from him.... Also since his last lie was that he was flying around the country and couldn't access his email much or the web as he shows big companies watercooling...

Or at least that was the last reason that he gave HwLabs that he could NOT pay them.

Yesterday I talked for an hour with Nevin of Arctic Silver. He described the lies that OCWC has said to them also! You know what, if you take the email Nevin got, and the emails HwLabs got, and all the lie emails that all his customers have got... they are almost EXACTLY THE SAME. Here is the pattern the scam uses:

1. Customer pays for the product, being told up front expecting to have the product ship in a week or so.
2. Customer waits with NO reply or info from Chip for 2 months+
3. Customer emails chip asking where the product is.
4. Chip replies saying "It will ship tomorrow"
5. Another week goes by and chip claims it must have been lost in the mail. He says he will send another one.
6. More weeks go by, still nothing... and at this point chip normally ignores all the additional emails until the person makes a stink publicly about it on a forum. then just MAYBE chip refunds the money or sends the product.

This is now almost 5 -6 months after the person ordered the product.

The same thing happens with suppliers but with a different twist:

1. Orders the products but asks for an open account so that he can pay in 30 days.
2. Supplier ships the goods
3. 30 days comes and goes... no money is sent to the supplier
4. Supplier contacts chip and chip claims to have sent a check that must have gotten lost in the mail.
5. Supplier contact chip again in 5 more days asking where the check is now?, Chip claims it also must have been lost, or some medical disaster, or biblical event that stopped him from sending it.
6. after another 60 days Chips story is normally "I have sent it multiple times, via mail and its been lost every time, I have tried to call and your phone system was down, and I have sent CC info via email and it was lost" Every supplier he's tried that on has seen right through it.

So far Arcitc Silver was eventually paid but it was 120days late!, and HwLabs has not been paid for the product they sent OCWC. That's why OCWC stopped selling AS, because they will never do business with him again.

Am I worried about being taken to court?? **** no! by chip? Like he would pay his lawyer on time anyway.... Chip you can hide behind false names on the forum, hide behind threats of law suits, and hide behind your own thin veil of lies and deception... but you cant hide from the truth that's coming out about you.

Maybe its time you grow up and get some ****ing balls, and take a little responsibility for your actions you pansy ass.

Also chip, you also can’t hide from the attorney general of your home state.

I am drafting letters to the Attorney General for Louisiana, and Ohio. I am sending all the evidence I have, and all the complaints I have received, to them both. From what I hear, they have had it with internet fraud, and seem to deal with it in a most swift manner.

on the positive side though, manufacturer's are aware of this now, so if he does try to do this again then they just won't sell to him. I think the next stage is warning as many manufacturer's as possible, anything computer related at all

I was doing a prototype test for chip, so my communication with him is good. He didnt send me any pertinant info. I just asked him what he meant by his last email and that is what he wrote.

I would also like to note that WatercooledCPU.com doesnt take Paypal because Chip couldnt use his fake Adress on there... and he couldnt register a second account...

He also claims to "hate" paypal because they offer "lame" service, as found on paypalwarning.com ....

That's because people who do not get their goods can get a paypal investigation going and get their cash back within 30 days...

A quick run of paypalwarning.com's information Through WHOIS reveals nothing, but it seems to have been established loosely at the same date as watercooledCPU.com was established... I don't know... anyways chip has been using this to his advantage, yet again.
