grab faceplate. attach included hole template. drill some holes. wire fans into unit. mount unit to faceplate and attach knobs. plug into PSU and slide unit into empty 5 1/4" drive bay.

so yeah, you'll need a drill and 1/4" drill bit to finish them (whether its the PCmods or Caseetc unit). everything else you need is included.

Default Stupid question of the day

anyone know of a place (USA) that rents out tools? the only time i'll be using a rotary tool will be for the rheobus and maybe chopping a 120mm hole in a lian li case, after that, it'll collect dust.

home depot and lowes rent out tools, and most likely other places if you look in the yellow pages.

yea, he mustve been a newb...my dad recently rented an insulation blower from home depot...
i dont think they'll have a dremel or rotary tool for rent, but im sure you could get a drill and some bits. maybe a holesaw to cut your blowhole (dont forget cutting oil!).

I'd just go buy a Dremel (or cheaper immitation). I bought mine for some case work, but keep finding little uses for it. It's just like the commercials - it's good for a damn lot of things. And though it's not the best tool for much of anything, it can do at least a decent job of pretty much everything.

look for a guide over at Virtual-Hideout or maybe Case etc. it shouldnt be too difficult; its probably the eaiest and fastest way to cut a neat circle.

the dremel is a great tool for case modding. i used it to cut and debur / sand all my holes. i use it to polish, as well as clean. useful tool to have if you want to mode your case all out.

I use it to sharpen my lawnmower blade, without removing it...

I used a dremel wanabe to make all the cuts in my case. It took me almost 2 days , 4 hours each, to make all the custom cuts that I needed to fit the AquaCoil in but it was worth it. Luckly I just had to borrow the thing from my brother ( and replace all his disks and sanders when I was done)

My roommate thought I was on drugs the whole time.
