Kits are rarely pre-assembled and ARG (Almost Ready to Go). #rotor I believe does sell one though, so you might check out his website. If you're not going to put in the work, then you're looking at a fair expense. Are you ready for that? |

Just don't be fooled into thinking that just because it's sold as a kit that the parts all compliment each other. It depends on who's putting the kit together. Though I think what Ben is saying is that you can take the parts list from the kit you're looking at and find all the parts separately for less cash.

Hey, don't apologize to me, just get it right!
![]() ![]() Funnily, this misunderstanding is down to syntax: Original i dont wanna build my own well ciz i dont trust in myself. My interpretation i dont wanna build my own, well, ciz i dont trust in myself. The correct interpretation i dont wanna build my own well, ciz i dont trust in myself. Anyways... If the Swiftech is outside of your budget, you can pick up a Maze 3-1 for about $55. -Via pump ($22) -Maze 3-1 block ($55 with the pelt option) -a heater core ($20) -a Chieftec Matrix case ($80) -a Pelt ($35-40) -a res (Rubbermaid, $5) -some tubing and clamps ($5-10) And then you've got to find a PSU for that pelt. |

About the Dragon, just got mine in from Directron 2 weeks back. Looks like I was just in time!
Anyway its an awesome case, and it cost me ~$60 + shipping. I'd keep looking to see if you can still get one. As I recall the Matrix is a little smaller. Anyway heres what I did with mine: ![]() ![]() Double core fits great! Though I still need to clean up the edges, I'll take care of that when I get my new shroad finished. |

Sure you aren't talking about BladeRunner? He's located in the UK. If it is in fact a Dane, who is it? As a fellow Dane, I'm curious... Ben, you mention the Via-Aqua pump... What are it's weaknesses (noise, build quality?)? Would you concider it sufficient in a Spir@l + heatercore setup? I'm concidering the Danner Model 2 as an alternative. |

I'd have to search for it, but as I remember it, he was in a northern European country. I could be wrong.
I'd guess to say that in a spir@l, the Via would do well. The problem with this pump is that it seems to make some noise when installed in a rig that's very restrictive (like all pumps). It can cause the shaft to bend, but it's replaceable. Many people swear by the Via, others hate it, but no one seems to understand why. My take on it is: if your rig is very restrictive, use two of the cheap buggers in series. What's the latest specs on that Danner #2? It needs a sealing job, because it really can't handle the pressure very well at all (see the article on this site). Once sealed though, it seems to be quite good. I'm filing this one under "lucky find, if you can fix it". |

Danny over at Dtek takes care of sealing the Danner, but I am tempted by the via... it's dirt cheap... Thanks for the reply.

Since that Danner#2 is only rated for 200+ gph, I'd go with the Via. If you want a serious overclock, you'd do well with two of those Vias.
I did the search and yes, I was reffering to Bladerunner (in the UK). Let us know! |

Remember that watercooling your harddrive will not make it quieter...
as for the cases... 1 and 2 are nice cases, pick the one that fits your need for space and looks. I don't know much about 3 but I don't think it's in the same league as the others.. |

I've been eyeing (sp?) those Chieftecs for a while. They look like the Antec's, only cheaper. I've heard good things. Check out newegg. At one point, they had a sweet chieftec case w/ a window preinstalled for like $47 or $57, w/o PSU, I think. Anyways, I've not been able to find it since... sometimes it'll pop up on the "hot deals" section. maybe you could write them and ask...?
