Once you find the radiator you are looking for, do a search on Google for online juckyards. You should find a service that allows you to request parts from hundreds of juckyards across the nation. gmat: I totally agree that your setup would be more effecient. I do not agree that I would be only utilizing 50% however(hopeful thinking?). As far as watts diaaipated with my setup as described below, what do you estimate to be the difference in the two systems? Anyone else with greater understanding of fluid dynamics: Could you maybe pipe in and give us some mre meat to chew on? Go to the heater core data base on this forum. 2-617 2-342 2-149 These are all single pass rads, there aren't many listed, but this I don't think are all. To find them you have to go to the Fedco site and just plain hunt through all the listings. I have a Zip disk with differant items of interst, I found 2 of these there and the other is the one BrianW is using of course. Hope this helps, gives a starting point at least. The 2-342 rad has the diagonal inlet/outlets the finned area is 9.25 X 6.375 X 2 these aren't the listed demensions but I have this core and that is what the ruler says. I bought mine new for $30 at a Napa auto parts store. BrianW, Very nice pump indeed. One other question, did you consider useing rad #2-192? It is about the same size as your duals and would have saved work and some 90's & T's. 2-192 is the largest core in the data base (I think), huge. P.S. One other thought, why use the barbs or those threaded fittings? Straight copper tube for the hose to go on along with a hose clamp would save some resistence. Thanks fer the comments. Funny you mention that rad, as we were originally planning on using it, however the wierd mounting brackets made me decide against it. I wouldn't really know how to take them off. I also wanted the extra performance of running the the rads in parellel(although arguements provided in this thread may prove I was wrong in my assumtions. As far as the barbs, I am using 5/8" tubing to and from the rad, and the 1/2"NPT 5/8" barb has nearly the same ID as the 1/2" copper pipe. It also gives me a bit of flexability if I choose to change tubing sizes. Brian W

Brian: 50% was a random figure. Actually it can be less with a weak pump, and more with a strong pump. With that 20RZ iwaki you don't need to worry about anything, but leaks...
My remark was just a suggestion, and it's about the only thing i have to say about your setup, apart from 'nice' ![]() As for an idea of how your setup will perform, i'm in the process of writing that simulator... In the mean time you'll be ready to fire it up i guess. |

Cool, thanks GMAT. As far as your simulator, I plan to do many flow tests before i put the system together. I will give you all my data so we can compare the simulator to real world application. I will also have some flow figures for my 5/8" Nominal flow quick-disconnects as well.

Good concept, I like it. I would've gone with one large heatercore instead of several smaller ones run together. For example, the core I use is a 9"x9"x2", I got it from autozone for roughly the same price you got two of your rads for in your previous post. Here's a picture:
