Pseudo-pr0n from Comic-Con
Snapped a picture of this hottie from Comic-Con. She was a model for the upcoming Species III movie and was for some reason in this glass case in their booth. According to attendees who had been at the convention all day, she was quite active and feisty earlier in the morning. By the time I saw her, as you can see here she is somewhat subdued and probably not thrilled about being oogled by MMORPG geeks by the thousand. Now she's on the internet! Just figured that since there is a vote about turning Procooling into a pr0n site, what the hell. Perhaps the "propr0n" domain is available!

I tell you what, I seen some reviews so blatantly wrong I just couldn't see the point of pointing out what is wrong because the whole damn thing was. It is really pathetic that people setup one water cooling system and all the sudden think they can write technical articles on water cooling. It took me a couple years and a lot of WC setups before I really started learning anything and I am still not the sharpest knife in the drawer on the subject. |

Kudos pH for bringing the subject up… In a perfect world most of us could be more tolerant and helpful in an effort to promote the art of water-cooling. In reality we are human… Awareness and an occasional reminder to focus on the positive strengths of ProCooling might be a good start!
I’ve certainly found myself on both sides of this fence… I also feel like I have learned a thing or two from the more knowledgeable around here over the years – even if sometimes it was presented harshly. In the big picture, I find most folks in the forums here helpful. Yeah, sometimes we get off track and egos and tempers flare, but when you are truly interested it’s bound to get emotional. What I do find irritating at times are the few that like to sit on the bank casting criticism but rarely if ever get off their butts to offer constructive advice, or attempt any real testing or experimenting themselves. Oh well, that’s life… Keep up the good work guys… |

If I looked like that and was at a con, I'd want to be protected by 1/2" of Lexan... the ones I pity are the booth babes out in the open.

Lets see, what *can* be changed?
Idiocy is, unfortunately, cronical. We can´t prevent people from posting idiotic reviews, if the tester is an idiot. If someone really wants to flame a review we likely can´t prevent that someone from flaming. Lack of education, on the other hand, *can* be remedied. As some allready has suggested, set up a small how-to over testing, listing the most obvious mistakes, physical laws etc. that one should be aware of during testing. If a bad review is posted somewhere, present the better way to the uneducated tester (in a more or less harsh way). If that someone doesn´t want his/her medicin then feel free to light up the flamethrowers. But give the tester a fair chance to prove him/herself uneducated instead of assuming idiocy by default. At least that can remove some of the worst reviews from the net. OK, hopefully, I should know better than just assume something like that. (why is experience so often of a bitter kind?) In my beautiful little world noone regards him/herself as an idiot (even if many are wrong on that topic), but calling someone an idiot is a very effective way to make that someone *behave* like an idiot, and defending his/her right to behave in that way, which, of course convinces You even more that this person is an idiot. And the flames get hotter. Yes, dealing with suspected idiots *is* very demanding and tiering, even dealing with educatable, uneducated is a heavy burden (empiric studies), but my opinion is still that we should give people a second chance before flaming them. And, no, pr0n is not a better alternative than watercooling, if the teasers allready posted is what will be served. regards Mikael S.

Hummm, if you call someone and idiot and then he behaves like an idiot in response there is a good chance he is in fact an idiot. Anyone not an idiot would have been able to put you in your place with empirical evidence as to why he is not an idiot. If you decide to ignore his evidence as to why he is not an idiot then you are the idiot. So I see an idiot people exposed either way. Now is that a bad thing? Hummm....

Yeah, I bet You´re right Jaeydee.
If You called me an idiot I would ask You WTF You´re meaning. As gentlemen (pistols, not flamethrowers) we would settle the thing out and be happy afterwards. Being accused for an idiot doesn´t mean You have to act as one, but many people get pissed off by such an accusation, and pissed off people can behave like idiots without being idiots. Of course, idiots are even more prone to behave like idiots. I gave this thread a good thought before going to bed yesterday. There´s a standard argument from the less enlighted sites with the dubious reviews: "Our readers are not so technically experienced, so we can´t throw them a lot of scientific stuff." The review flaming on this site never has questioned the competens of any sites *readers*, only the competens of some sites editors. Back in first grade, primary school, I simply assumed that even if I wasn´t very good at reading that wouldn´t excuse an analfabet for a teacher. My low competens in a certain topic doesn´t mean it´s OK to teach me rubbish. What´s worse: 1. A first class, primary school, teacher saying: "Yes, 'dog' is spelled d-o-u-g-h, very good." or 2. Another person brutally slapping the same teacher in his/her neck and shouting into his/her ear: "No, godammit! 'Dog' is spelled d-o-g, You imbecill moron!" regards Mikael S.

But then there is my favourite example...Liquid3D. Guy was talking out of every orifice on him barring the mouth about the TDX waterblock. When the review in question was brought up here...this guy showed up and got hostile. Lampooning ensued...dude started flaming phaestus in other forums, and dug a deeper and deeper hole for himself intellectually. Bona fide 100% USDA slice of fool right there. Guy should get into astrology, UFOlogy, cults, or some other pseudoscience, where facts rather than beliefs don't matter. Idiots should be treated as such, once exposed through their own idiocy. But we shouldn't egg people on one way or the other to figure that out by name-calling/flaming first. Let their actions speak as the evidence without "tampering" with the experiment. That is the scientific method after all, and we all seem to dig and understand that here. |

I'd just like to point out that the Porn option has moved into first place, and was wondering what actions are being taken to reflect these results?
