Don't have much experience charging systems. Could you explain where the gauge and access valves go and from where do you charge the everything. Also, does the compressor already have oil in it?

yes the compressor will come complete with a full charge of oil.
there are 3 tubes comming out of most ac compressors.you have a small one called the hi pressure side. and a larger suction line called the low side.then you most of the time have one more large tube by itself that is used for fill purposes.,
now i am going to show you a pic of my new one.one the left you will see the fill tube.on the right you will see one larger tube(low side suction) andone smaller one marked hi side.now the gauges will connect to scrader ports i will solder inline in on the hi and low side to charge and monitor the system.
hope this helps

48 for TX Valve, 22 for hard start kit and 75 charge for installation.

does that sound reasonable to u bowman?

well that is about right.now you know that the hard start is just a start capacitor to give it more juice. just to start up easer underload.which is a very good thing if you can do it.always use one if you can will make the compressor even last longer.75 may sound hi but it will take him a hour to install the tx vavle and about 15 min on the start kit.so the charge is a fair price if that is what you want.

well finally got my aluminum cooling tray finished so now i start my fitting and pipe bending.
just incase anyone was wondering this cooling tray will slide in the bottom of my custom aluminum pc case.so i can slide it in and out for ease of my old butt working on it.ha ha ha

well i know its been a few days, trying to get caught up.I am working on too many parts at once.(1) I am trying to inprove on my block design with some added features into the new design.when new block is finished, i have designed a way to slow down the freon for the first 12 "s or so of the maze without making the channels any smaller.this should inprove heat transfer.(2) I am designing a way to adjust the freon flow to my chiller unit with out losing a freon charge,or using a exp vavle.this is trickie to do.still trying to get the best subcooling possible without overloading the compressor.trying to make the condensor do most of the work..well here is a little progress pic

By reducing the strain on the compressor you mean trying to make a more efficient/large heat exchange from Freon-to-Water? Is that going to happen in a reservoir with tubing or in a copper plate system? Also, have you bought that electronic temperature controller on eBay yet?

Fun, fun, fun.

NO WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO IS KEPT THE HEAT TEMP UP ON THE CONDENSOR.BY KEEPING MOST OF THE HEAT GOING INTO MY CONDENSOR I WILL BE KEEPING IT AT MAX EFFICIENCY.HOTTER CONDENSOR AND COLDER AIR WILL GIVE ME THE BEST DELT T.SO AFTER I REMOVE ALL THE HEAT I CAN ,THEN I START SUBCOOLING THE LIQUID LINE(CAPILLARY LINE).SUBCOOLING IS A GREAT WAY TO GET THOSE EXTRA COLD TEMPS,BUT..........TOO MUCH CAN BE BAD.SEE IF YOU USE ALL THE COLD GAS FROM THE RETURN SIDE OF THE EVAP. YOU CAN END UP OVERLOADING THE COMPRESSOR WITH HEAT.

SEE ALOT OF PEOPLE JUST THINK SUBCOOLING IS GREAT AND THE COLDER THE BETTER BUT,ANY TIME YOU REMOVE HEAT FROM THE LIQUID LINE SIDE,YOU ARE DOING NOTHING BUT PUTTING IT BACK INTO THE COMPRESSOR.SO YOU MUST FIND THE RIGHT AMOUNT COLD TO STEAL.THE RETURN LINE NEEDS TO BE SOME WHAT COLD TO HELP IN THE COOLING OF THE COMPRESSOR.

AND NO I AM STILL WHEELING AND DEALING ON THE CONTROLLER.BUT I HAVE MADE A DEAL FOR THE SAME ONE AND A THERMISTOR SO I DONT SPEND A DAY AND NIGHT GETTING THE RIGHT CALIBRATION SET ON MINE

well i have gotten the chiller box bent and welded up.all alumiuim box and lexan lid.and going to try something never done in a chiller.i am going to use copper sheets brased to the copper tubes from the evaperator and stager the plates in the box.forcing the coolant up and around the plates.this should make the coolant have lots of contact with the refridgerant tubes.i know a lot of people just coil up the tubbing and flow water around and up though the tubes.but the water doesnt have to make contact to get around.on this chiller of mine it will have to make contact with the copper plates to just get out.i will try to post some pics during the week of my progress in the chiller tank itself.have also finished new and updated machine specs for my new evap block.the one i run now runs over -60f unloaded and -44 loaded.i am adding about 4 to 6 inches of more channel without adding more block.this was done by utilizing a cad cnc program and instead of a maze i am going where i have seen no one go before.a new maze design with so many turns the liquid will slam and make more contact i hope to give me a little more evap temps.i will try to post them first of the week.

I see where you're going.

By adding fins to the tubes, you'll increase the surface area, and the cooling potential.

It seems to me that the challenge with this would be to find the right fin spacing, or at least the right coolant flow arrangement, to prevent the coolant from freezing up on the tubes.

How do you plan to address that?

Also, have you considered lining the inside of your Alu box with some kind of rubber sealant, to prevent galvanic corrosion?

well i happened to run across some .040 copper sheet material .i am going to solder the flat plates to the tubes horizontal.3 plates in all.coolant from video gpu and chipset will enter under the bottom plate though a tube with spray holes drilled into a piece of tubbing.this will try to evenly move to coolant under the bottom plate and move up though a gap int the lower plate.move across untill it goes up again.until it reaches the upper plater where it will flow upwards and flow over a dividing wall ,thus spilling over into a collection area where the pump will be mounted and pump it up and out.this should give it enough time to pull of the heat from the coolant.i would'nt be going to all this design if i had a large tank.but putting this all together inside a pc i had to maximize my cooling effecientcy.
and i am going to spray the inside with a sealant.proberly some kind of insulating coating.spray rubber i think.i still have a couple of spray rubber spray cans around here somewhere.

wanted to let everyone know while i was taking it easy this weekend i actually wrote a artical or two.so i hope the first one will help out the new guys a little.now the one i am writing now will give the specs to the current evaperator i am using and how i built that system.everyone has been on me for the evaperator infromation so it will be in here.i am wanting on some parts now before i can move along very much more.another roll of capillary tubing and my new temp controller should be to me by friday.

heres the link to the phase change artical 101 beginners
