Here I show the last blocks I made.
The insides of the cpu and chipset/vga blocks are the same, only differ in size.
The material of the top is Acetal, and the base/top is sealed with an O-ring.

The passages through the block contain spiral lengths of 18 gage copper wire for turbulance. It still needs a good lap job.

Yes it is. They are brass screws, screwed to the base and then soldered. I then chopped them down to size. I would've prefered to keep the entire setup out of copper but I don't think there is such a thing as "copper" screws.

Actually there are... most power rooms for various communications and industrial systems use copper "bolts" and "nuts" and "washers". Not sure about machine screws, but I bet they have those too.

Finally got my NB and GPU blocks done. They are simple "S" channels with lengths of copper wire wrapped in a slow spiral for turbulance. got the mounting brackets done for the CPU and the GPU, but for the NB, I need to pull the moboard and measure the holes. I also found some cool quick disconnects at Home Depot for the main lines between the boxes.

Built this last summer. Went off to college, so I didn't get it installed til this year. Doesn't look that good, but keeps it down around ambient+4-5C. Not bad. Wish I could have gotten my fins on the botton plate smaller/more dense, but thats the best I can do with my manual hand mill. Im jealous of you guys with the CNC mills

Heres my chipset block. Very cheesy. Its just a crossed drill block... Water comes in one way, out the other. There arn't any fins or anything fancy. We'll see if it works or not.

I got it from a friend They use it in the factory where he works. it's like some... euhm... shit don't know the english word, but they make boxes with it...like hard paper, sh*t I do not know how it is called.
Anyway, it's like that, and there's like... plastic or something on the side. Anyways, it's very leakproof and is easy if your surfaces aren't completely smooth...
But you could easely use some rubber, or if you don't need to tear it appart anymore, better use some silicone. I trust that more than anything else

btw, can we post our evaporatorblocks here to, would be cool to see some of those designs to, or is there a topic on this forum for that purpose???

man i havent been here in aaggees... this is my crappy computer with my dodgy watercooling stuff heh.. i dont have a pic of the cpu block when it was off the computer but anyway...



the cpu block is an ol' thermaltake heatsink basically..



the GPU block seems to have gotten the name 'the coaster' with a couple of my mates cause i actually made it out of a coaster lol, just the plastic bit, it was a solid piece of plastic but i bored it out on the lathe

when i made them i had 2 drives but ive gotten rid of them and chucked in a samsung 120gb one, i dont store much on this computer and its PLENTY of room

my computers basically designed around being silent, i dont have any pics but i have 2 pretty big radiators that will run passively pretty good as long as the computer isnt under full load for a long time. i did it like this so i can have my computer on doing stuff while i sleep

the only fan is the PSU fan which ive modified ( http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=13931 )
