Final pump and tooling sent to customer just before CES.
I understand the interest in liquid cooling presented at CES has our client reconsidering the DIY market. Mod's would be require as this is a very high head (12+ psi), low flow pump designed for chip intergrated cooling passages. Like most of our OEM designs this pump is specific to one need, but lends itself to some of your interests. Dan said I can try to modify the windings too except the longer duty cycle required for higher less restrictive flow. I will do this when I get the chance, OEM demands on my time fill the week quickly, and I am already getting behind again. If the winding tests are proven, I have a better chance of getting this pump to all. |

Cathar designed the Storm to suit modern pumps, now we design pumps to suit the blocks? I know you know this Dave, and you no dumb ass, but how about an approx PQ graph for the pump as-is just so I can see?
Would love to plumb it into my approximator as a laugh (do you know the approx heat dump into the coolant? Most pumps range from 50% to 70% as flow rate increases but there are exceptions (CSP Mag at 63 to 83, Lain DDCv2 at 42 to 56)

We don't have a PQ graph for this unit, we where given XX flow through an already developed cooling loop.
Believe it or not, big companies are designing cooling systems, assuming there is a pump to fit there needs without checking first. Happens all the time for us, company in a panic because they can not find what they need. We are given a flow rate, and typically asked to provide best solution for size, power, and often noise as well. So we focus on this required flow, and nothing else.... sorry. |

I am finally looking forward to designing a new WC system using one or both of the blocks I purchased from Cathar. I actually have 1 each of the G4 and G5 and they have only been taken out of the boxes for photos (long story, lets not go there). I would be very interested in also finding out the status of this pump, vaporware or worth waiting for? I have set aside a significant budget for this system and obviously waiting is not much of an issue for me.

There are many places to get pumps.
RS in the uk stocks stuff by this guys. The top of the range 12v dc pump is 10m max with 50lpm max flow. Cost you about £200 though. Thttp://www.totton-pumps.co.uk/prod.html |

i dont know anything it is a suggestion, specs are on the website or you could email them. If ppl are going to spend $300 a block why not a pump too.
Short time probably because they are DC. Email them if you are that interested. Yes 65w heat dump this is a mans pump. No way around it with these kinds of flow. It was only a suggestion there are many pumps out there but C systems make good ones and are a nice company so you may want to wait for theirs. |

The stats I need for the pump include dBA but also the heat dump into the coolant. As per the blue table on this page at the cooling-masters review:
http://www.cooling-masters.com/articles-33-13.html (sorry but english converters are banned at my work so no English URL) the ratio of watts consumed by the pump vs watts dumped into the coolant varies from between 56% (MCP350 aka Laing DDC) to 82% DangerDen CSP Mag. In my approximations it is often the case that extra heat dump outweighs benefits from flow rates, making the MCP350 one magic little pump.
