I found an absolutely amazing link:
http://www.lmnoeng.com/index.shtml

I'll be using it to help calculate the resulting flow restriction through your block (and mine!).
thanks for the link, i'll be looking around and trying to figure stuff out...hehe, trying

As for the 6.5 gpm, since I'm still in the design phase, I could open up barb sizes and various things in the block. Though I would like to get a copper version going soon.....

Plus, I know you said the most restrictive part should be the block, I just hope its not my rad. that is most restrictive.

As for the flow restriction through the rad, there's no way to tell, because there are no graphs available to give us such info. However...

We might find a chart for a similar core over here .

Looking at big momma, I'd extrapolate a pressure drop of 5 psi@5 gpm. Dang, that's 11.5 feet of head!
Crap! this doesn't mean I'm gonna need a new pump, does it?

I was just looking at that Rad. article last week, could be useful, very....

As for the Rad, I couldn't just measure how much it drops my flow-rate? I mean i would have to take it out to test this and the next time i would do this is probably when i'll be putting in the new block, so it doesn't really help me now......

Ok so whats the first step to calculating pressure drop through my block?

We have to break down all the channel components into their individual properties.

Yeah, go ahead and test it, with the Alu prototype. Report results!

i tested the first design, you've seen it, over in the thread "just to get some responses"

I may just go ahead and order some copper, for ~ $ 50 i can get quite a bit,

Heck I could just order about $25 worth and use aluminum mid and upper plates for testing purposes.....

Oh and I should have my Athlon Xp 1600 (instead of the crappy duron i have now) to report results with by this weekend (for the old alum. block). Have to get a temp probe too....
