*woohoo!!*...*dammit!!*...*woohoo!!*...*damn you imagex!!*...*woohoo*...etc.

Unfortunately I'm without broadband temporarily @home, so I lost a few hundred gens on the last protein, and I have to screw around with dialup every time I want to upload... :'(

Oh well, my PC @ work seems to be doing well.

I am done for now.
HD maxed out? 1700 buffered gens on my machine only take up about 150MB.

Exactly. It is a 1gig drive. It's only purpose is to crunch DF, would be stupid to buy a bigger drive being i got 256K up Cable. Only got 110megs free and they are now used. I am trying to upload now but it still isn't working. I quit.

Default New client sucks!!

I've installed the latest client that as explained in distributedfolding "news" it is slower and facilitates uploading proteins. Well.. it is slow as molasses if you'd ask me, and does not takes advantage of overclocked settings of your computer at all.

What a disappointment to say the least. Why in the world would any sane overclocker will want to run this thing in his/her machine?

Perhaps running two or more clients in one machine will make a difference.

What is the CPU usage? If your set to auto connect and the server still is unresponsive it all but stoppes the client when it tries to upload. Thus krippling your output. Check the CPU usage and make sure it is 100%. If it isn't disable autoconnect and then ckeck again.

LOL, well scrath that. Just read some info. The client is much slower because it uses 200 gens instead of 100 per structure. Thus it will put out half the amount of points in the same amount of time. So if you want less points but higher qulaity results go with the slower one, if you want more points and lower qulaity results go with the faster one. I still quit.....

If it (distributed folding) continues like this, I think I am going to go back to faithful SETI, where programmers are nice, and do appreciate my watercooling and overclocking abilities.

I gave up SETI for this project. I got about 4600ish WU's for amdmb.com. It was definatly a fun project. The results after OC'ing were definatly much more obvious.

Slacker! It ain't hot yet up north where you are, open a damn window! Besides, real men can take the heat.

I bet if you had been running DF at work you wouldn't have slipped so much in your coding skills (as evidenced by borking the whole site).

The way the DF server is you would not have been able to upload anyway. Probably would have caused some problems on the work machines to boot. I am running the climate prediction project for now.

True... I don't even know how I am doing from day to day. With a small computer upgrade in this next week though I should bring back the full force of my computers again. Folding is a good stability tester of any OS and/or OC.

Team Page: http://wibble.bounceme.net/Sneakers/...s.php?tid=1680
Main Page: http://wibble.bounceme.net/Sneakers/

it isnt as pretty as arachnid's but it gets the job done. its also a little harder to read and has more stats (team as well as overall ranking, current points, sets finished, and graphs) but its pretty nice.

oooh...I like that. The graphs aren't as pretty (or flexible), but I _do_ like the additional fields on the team list.

To help with uploading, I've been simulating a sneakernet, so I can have a client folding all the time, and another in an upload-only loop, to dump my results. Maybe that will help some of the rest of you.

...oh, and Imagex, I have another 3500 gens upping right now...

Just to let all you know, I have stopped all my folding machines since last week some time, and have only been uploading since then. Still have about 1000 buffered gens to upload. Then I will stop folding for a while because I will be out of town (actually out of country). So, Satanico, you should be able to get second place soon .

I would but I can't do it. Joe or a mod has to unlock the thread and change it.
