well atm england are no1 in the world for rugby (having beaten the aussies, alblacks and springboks in the last series) so were not bad at everything.

I don't work in cad programs, just with paper and pencil as I go on a one off basis. You need to appreciate its a very complex design, (even more so than it may appear in the pics), and would be very difficult to get all the details required across in text or paper drawings. I will be writing up a build article later, and try to include the specs where possible.

I was wondering bladerunner. If right where the fx chip is you can't mabye add silver. Just in that one area . Since that will be the hotest part. I wonder how that would work.

It would be a waste of money. GPUs dont put out that much heat, and if you are going to spend a lot, they are easy to peltier and that gets quite good gains on them.

I'm sorry but for the price of silver that would need to cover the fx chip (just that area not the whole waterblock , almost like the alpha pep heatsinks) It would cost alot less than a tec and alot less than running tht tec.

I didn't say a peltier would be cheaper, just that silver would be a waste of money. Cathar's Silver Cascades only gained 1ºC over the copper versions.
Its not worth the cost to insert a little bit of silver in a GPU block, where it is likely to gain SFA.

Will be a while as I'm moving home & living in temporary accommodation at the moment. Once I'm settled it should give me the funds to get something like THIS

Bladerunner, what happened to the house you were building? (Thought your mobile home thing was your temporary accomodation till that house got finished...) Interested in more than just your blocks mate, what with Cathar's blocks in Australia, Swiftechs in the US - need our home talent to do well

Wow... you're gonna get that CNC mill? NICE!

Dropping £15000 for that is WAY out of my budget... but then again I'm looking to drop that much or more for an Ultima GTR.

Hoping to start a builder shop with a friend of mine here in the states.

Anyhoo... good luck with all your moving. I will wait patiently for the almighty BladeRunner to return.

Yeah, plans change...... due to many factors personal & business along with the fact someone offered me a very good price for my uncompleted house, I decided to sell and buy cheaper so I can put some money into a business venture. I have about 30K to spend on the venture in total, which will need to cover, a decent CNC Machine, rent of a small unit / workshop, and other equipment like a lathe, saw bench & CNC / CAD software etc.

Won't be next week by any stretch of the imagination, but keep an eye out for specialist retail ZFZ blocks in the not too distant future

the best mix you can get a lee noble chassis with a huuuuge american V8, and for £40k you can get a car that will murder anything this side of a true supercar.

Wow, you are going to invest 30K in a PC watercooling business? You must have big faith on the market!

Well you are not just using up 30K, as the machinery remains pretty much the same value if you sell it again as long as its maintained. Renting a unit or workshop is an expense of course but I'll be making some motorsport related items too..... nothing ventured ....... nothing gained

Awesome man! I wish I had an extra $30k laying around

Your gonna have to learn cad, and cam. A CAM program can cost up to $15000 itself(mastercam) or you can find some cheap programs. You will also need a program to send the signal to the drives. uses NC files from the CAM programs.

You can get a cheap cad program, do everything 2d, make the toolpaths and set the depths in the CAM program. Or if you really are crazy, you can handwrite the G code.

-edit- I see thats a NC machine or something like that, You stick your NC files in there with your G code and whatnots. it reads it and goes I supose. I think you can also program the machines to do what you want it to right on that peice.

Bust out msn messenger and I can help ya if you want.

Must be a fair few second hand CAD/CAM program licenses at liquidation auctions and the like at this time. Or do these things rarely get sold on?
