I hear you
one has to be concerned with those kind of complaints, valid or not
the workplace is a mess when words become taboo

People who want to be insulted will find that it happens quite frequently.

Life is much easier if everyone has it in for you, it lowers expectations and helps redirect responsibility...

As a lazy bastard, I'm deeply offended by the word "workplace". Please cease and desist your use of this economic epithet.

Please halt from using the word "bastard". Some state supported person may find your characterization of their children's legal status offensive.

It's true. I prefer "self supporting impaired" but "fat asshole welfare ridden couch potato" is ok too

LOL - it's so true. Every time I go to the USA it's like I need to set my political correctness dial to 15, which is somewhat hard as it only goes to 10 being an Australian, and even then the knob keeps falling off if I try to turn it past 4.

Still, my wife seems to have it permanently set to 0, and it doesn't budge. While sitting in a chinese restaurant in California with her and her Australian friend who paid a visit they were happy and laughing from being able to catch up and the Chinese waiter sees this and offers to take a photo if they have a camera, in a thick asian accent asking "You have cam-mer-ra?". Of course this sets my wife and friend off into a fit of imitating the waiter to the total abject horror of the US patrons at surrounding tables. Thing is, the waiter was laughing too, as my wife and friend explained to the waiter that they thought his accent adorable, and the waiter started making fun of our Australian accents.

I remember it well. Said manufacturer submitted a more highly specialised version than even their existing top-end product offering at the time, and wrapped it in their budget offering's "shell" with the budget product's price tag attached.

Phaestus, I'll be sending the blocks to you for your testing purposes and you can keep them. Maybe they could even be passed on to JoeC after you're done? There are a great many individuals outside of Europe (and even within Europe) who like the small-ID tubing approach and would like to see these blocks evaluated across a range of pumping pressures outside of the single ultra-low-flow WCP testbed.

I am personally mostly interested in testing for overclocking stability, as this is presently my main focus of research. I'd also like to assess their performance based on how I measure temperatures with the insulated under-socket approach as I'm still not wholly convinced that the on-die diodes aren't compressing temperatures in some fashion.

Which budget block was it and how much did the ringer beat it by?

On a semi-related note, years ago I had a friend who actually made his living at the (horse) racetrack. They have (or at least had) a thing called the "claiming rule" - if you entered your horse in the $10K race then anyone could buy your horse for $10K (I think - maybe it was 1.5 x the purse).
He made it his business to know exactly which horse was which and would buy "ringers" - to be sold back to their owners at a tidy profit...

Yes/no.
Horse racing results do not respond to Psychokinesis .
However w/c testing results often do.
