BladeRunner, have you ever tried to use copper pipe together with push in fittings instead of the plastic tube? It's something I will try in my upcoming project, hopefully it will work...

Yes I use 10mm copper tube in the connections for the tank bypass valve, which is also incorporated into the tank inflow / outflow unions to get it from 3X 10mm nylon to 5/8 barb. These images show the set-up. Red tubes to the tank / Blue tubes from the tank, and the bypass valve.

Two issues I can think of with using copper tube are that it is very inflexible so you would need to be very accurate in the bending & fitting of it if you are to avoid it straining the blocks and damaging the chips / components they are contacting. It will also make assembly / disassembly awkward.

The other thing is the Festo style push fits, rely on a grip that digs into the tube surface as it's pulled out. It wont be able to do this with copper tube so they possibly could come out more easily in an unwanted fashion if you know what I mean.

Ah, thanks. Copper tube it is then It will only be short 8mm OD pipes so it shouldn't be to much strain, also I have a certain habit to keep my setups fairly static.

Looking fantastic as ever

Now you have your mill you should be able to make some really cool stuff

Great idea combining your manifold and CPU block.

I love the mosfet block as well, thats pure class

The biggest problem if you just want a small amount is they have a minimum order amount of about £30.

I'm going to hopefully start to sell small quantities of copper etc through my site in the future, but until my job calms down I have very little time for anything but sleep at the moment.

I'd also suggest asking in a new topic what is better to use than acrylic, as it tends to crack easily. Seem to remember someone saying lexan is much less prone to cracking. I only got acrylic as it was all they had in stock at the time.

I get my copper from this place

http://www.metalsupermarkets.com/

They have places all over the country and there is no minimum order.

Ive bought things from them several times and there easy to deal with and good value.
