I do not have any 1/16" end mills or a collet to hold one. Will cost me about $150US for the endmills and the collet to make a block like like. For $20 each milled there I can get 4-5 blocks milled and shipped for the same as buying the equipment to do it myself.

Will belive it when I see it! Also don't forget the nozzel. One of the most important parts of spreading the incomming water into all those channels.

The Barton core runs along the length of the fins, so it's fine.

Those fins are about 40mm long from the picture. You have 8 channels you need to cut at a depth of 5mm each. For starters 1mm mill bits with a 5mm shank are extremely rare. In C110 copper, you're looking at around 50 minutes of machine time to cut that. Then they'll need to pay for the number of mill bits that they'll snap while trying to get it right.

It could be done with a slitter saw. I'm unsure of the total machine time here though. Of course you have to pay for the blades and the setup costs to get it right.

$20 for a tool shop to machine something for you sounds to me like they're just doing a favor for someone, whether or not you think they aren't isn't the issue. It's simply not cost effective.

actually if i change the bottom 5mm distance to 6mm i could do most of the work at school with no charge

then get a slitting saw and do the rest

Mine ranged in price from $13 to $20.
Got them from a machine tools place in Sydney
They are like a mini circular saw.
Pics will be forth coming in a while in my thread.

Just blades, then you need an arbor.

Most truck places, most hosing etc. specialists like Pirtek, ENZED, as well as plumbing places.

go to a plumbing supply store, or a place that sells light irrigation equipment, they will have brass hose barbs.

hell, if a 2 horse town like maryborough has 3 places that I can get brass hosebarbs from (retail), surely brisbane has one!

hmm ok

i wanted to get the measurements of the inside of the barbs but it doesnt matter that much atm

ill have one 1/2" barb in and 2 going out, what size should be going out ? 3/8" ?

can i get a Y adapter ? 2 3/8 into one 1/2" as that would be preferable for obious reasons

well ive decided that i will do most of the milling except for the 1mm channels at school

i will either do the chanels with a slit saw thingy or take them to get done at Compucut

I buy my end mills at jtsmachine.com

about 3 bucks for a 1/8inch end mill, about 3.50 for a 1/16inch end mill and about the same for 3/64.
and about 5-6 bucks for a 1/4inch end mill, ALL CARBIDE.

this is USD, do the math

Nice one Jon!

Got anyone who sells 1.0 mm endmills, that can go 4 or 5 mm deep? Prefer Cobalt, and coated
