Default Asbestos Cancer

Anyone know what chemo treatments are available for asbestos cancer? My dad just got news that he has inoperable "mesothelioma". Apparently, the surgeon says that chemo is not all that effective. I was hoping that there would be someone out there that knows different.

Oh, and "NO" I don't trust all those websites out there offering cures. Bean curds, zen and almonds do not make an effective cancer treatment, imo.

I'm so sorry to hear mate, I've just asked my parents who are both Consultant's (highest grade of Doctor's here in the UK) and they say Chemo and Radiotherapy are both done, but the most common action is a Pleurectomy where they remove a layer of the lungs.

Thanks. Unfortunately, removal isn't an option since the cancer has grown into the intestines and the abdominal wall is "hard with cancer cells".

Thanks, supergeek. We are praying. I had hoped that there were better medicines out there, too. You never know what is going to happen.
