Default Pelt / Water Cooling Question on 1.33ghz AMD

I have an AMD 1.33ghz, and I want to order a pelt for it. I am using water cooling and a fridge for it now. I heard from AMD, and Maximum PC allong with other people I know that own them that they run cooler than the previous chips in the Thunderbird class. My question is would an 87 watt pelt, help or hurt? Should I run water cooling only, or would the small pelt perform better with the water cooling. I would like to overclock to 1.4ghz - 1.6ghz with all this, and run under 105 deg. F under moderate, to heavy CPU stress. Any advice would be great. I am running an IWILL KK266 socket A on an Entermax 451 watt Power Supply

Sorry dude, but Maximum PC and AMD are full of shit. My old 1Ghz @ 1.2Ghz used to idle at 39F. I am water-cooling and using a 156W peltier. With the exact same set up, with the exception of a 1.33Ghz CPU @ 1.6Ghz, my idle temps are now around 68F. This CPU is the HOTTEST AMD has ever made. Any one who says it is a cool-running chip is full of shit. Why do you think AMD is coming out with the Palomino? It is essentially the same as the Thunderbird, but will run cooler.

If you want to destroy your new CPU within a few seconds, go ahead and follow the advice of Maximum PC and throw a 87W pelt on there. Re-post and we will all make fun of you and we'll tell you we told you so.

Frankly, I think you may be better off with water-cooling alone, myself included. CHrist man, if you are using a fridge as a chiller, there is no reason why you should even need a peltier.

Yup, the water cooling is going to be pretty much it for better cooling.

emtp563, what was your voltage with the 1ghz @ 1200 ?

what core was it? did you have to mod the MB to get enough voltage?
