I´ve got one of those.
1/4" hoses. Brrr... With one 32 CFM-rated fan, Eheim 1248 and a Maze3 I get 47 degrees Celsius with Prime 95 at an ambient temp of 24 degrees Celsius. AMD Palomino 1800+ at factory deafult speed. I get more depressed for each sentence I write. OK, it´s far better than my old Taisol heat sink, but in all other aspects, Redleader is right. Shitty. Two in parallell might be better, but I´m more into purchasing a Dremel and a heater core (need the Dremel to install the HC). regards Mikael S. |

surface area is king in a rad. of the rad is micro, your temps will be macro.
ofcourse, busting out a dremel might be something that holds you back, but it shouldn't. if you do something like watercooling, might as well try doing it as well as possible from the first time.

g.i.amour, You´re sooo right.
If I ever register a site I´ll call it Noobs Catarsis, I´ve gone through the hybris, now it´s payback time. The Dremel isn´t so far away. I hope. regards Mikael S.

Worse 80mm fans have such low pressure rateings. Not only is it tiny, but it probably has a realworld flow rate around 5-6CFM with a typical fan. With flow/surface like that, you'd probably get equal results from aircooling.
