Some modification needed to properly reconcile quantum and classical theory here. It is the experience of the average married man that there is very little correlation between having someone in your field of vision and the likelihood of sex. Perhaps some law of conservation is in order; my heart has not stopped beating yet based on the wishes of "better half" either...

"That look" is not to be confused with "the look". If the wife gives you "the look", you may well be in trouble, but you'll at least enjoy it. Also beware, "the look" can turn to "that look" if you're not paying attention. So save a marraige, vote Pro-Porn

Ok given the recent discussion with OCForums mods (which had more soundbytes from stupid people than a Bush state of the Union) I have 100% been reformed. Flame the shit out of stupidity on forums and on reviews. If they get mad at Procooling then **** em. A small fraction of the angry mob will get exposed to good info and start down the path to technical competence. That's better than good feelings and friendliness and proliferation of bad ideas.

our cherished rigor is not appreciated there, let it go and scarsism is not tolerated (not feelgood stuff) I comment occasionally, but feel no commitment |

I do the same. Really only comment when a thread is linked from here. Does IMOG think that directing the quoted comment to Les alone makes it any more palatable to me? Not seeing the value of Les's modeling is fairly symptomatic of their troubles on OCF

Depends on how you look at it I guess Bill. Consider this in terms of an OCF "Great Leap Forward" and it makes more sense

nah but lencouraging the intellectuals to speak up only to swoop down on them is a lot like the cultural revolution.

I think it a shame that you guys would consider halting the modus operandi around here. Its good to see you guys criticize and the reaction of outsiders to your way of doing things here shouldn't change anything.
At the core, you guys have your reasons (though on the surface you appear, and pride yourselves on, as being a bunch of asses). If others can't find anything useful in what you do, its their own shortcoming, not yours. As far as revolutions are concerned, thats probably hopefully dramatic. However, I think some reasonable improvements can be realized if the criticism is acted upon in atleast some small way (within the concerned's realm of control atleast). |

IMOG: My comments about "Great Leap Forward" and "Cultural Revolution" referred to China's history. Perhaps read up a bit on it; summary would be that govt asked intellectuals and thinkers for input and when they spoke up with anything contrary to Communist Party policy they were killed. I was actually drawing a very unflattering comparison between this latest drama here and OCF and Chairman Mao's mass murdering. HAL-9000 picked up on it I think

the 'cultural revolution' made huge changes, good for the statist mentality
- hugely damaging in terms of respect for elders, family, parents, educators the Taiwanese now consider themselves culturally different form the mainland Chinese for these reasons |

I'm familiar with the history there - the reference wasn't that vague. I was just playing off the allusion to revolution, to communicate what I saw as reasonable expectations. It'd be nice to have a perfect forum, but I don't think such is possible - there are always realistic limitations.

I knew you could put stress fractures in materials by moving them from extreme heat to extreme cold suddenly, but I had no idea that a similar notion applied elsewhere... Quote:

Arctutrius, "jerk off" would be more accurate.
The link was sent to me from another guy at the office. Supposed to be an offending joke. I don´t know why I know so many offending people, myself included. regards Mikael S.
