What do you think the best Socket A o/cing board is right now?
I'm going to buy one tomorrow, and i'm leaning towards the XP333. Anyone have anything to say about this? I'm attracted to its PCI divisers, RAID, and quality audio. What about that MSI nForce board? I haven't been reading up on mobo reviews recently like I normally do. I'm interested in the one that is able to hit the highest FSBs.

All the reviews I've read say it's a good board. However, those same review shows that the ali chipset performs slower than the via 266a chipsets. So you can get the iwill and run ddr 333. Or you can get a 266a motherboard and run at 266 and beat the iwill. But the iwill does have some nice features. I think I'm just gonna get myself an epox.

Which epox is the one you are looking at? I just read a couple reviews of the MSI nForce board, and that blows ass so that's out of the picture. I'm looking for a board that is CURRENTLY available. I don't want to wait. I want to buy a board tomorrow.

I think i'm gonna go w/ the XP333-R. Even though its performance isn't quite on par with some of the KT266A boards, I like its stability, features, o/cability, and price.

the xp333 is faster in most real tests per mhz than the kt266a
the 1/5 and 1/6 just sweeten it up more

Kev, it's gonna be a crap shoot with the XP333. I would get an Epox if I were to get anything now.

Yeah I know it's a crapshoot, but I'm kinda excited to try a new chipset out and check out all the features. I'm not a big fan of Via chipsets so I'd prefer to go w/ the XP333. I guess i'm just taking the gamble.

keep us updated. I'm interested in it also. And I also did see that some real world bench marks were comparable to the 266a chipsets. The individual cpu,memory,etc... were where they differences were noted. But I'm not as daring as you.
