Default HWLabs NextGen G2

First previews of the new NextGen rads from HWLabs are appearing...

Any comments from folks?? Personally, I do like the angular looks n' double-stacked fins...

it's purdy. and seems to have same fin density, and less channels.
and thats about as much as i can say.

Actually, the same number of channels (12) but double the fin density.

Photos also reveal that they sport screw-in barbs and screw-threaded M3 mounting holes for the fans. Particularly of interest are the dimensions: the plenum chambers seem smaller and Hardware Labs state that despite having Xtreme levels of performance, the radiators now have Pro dimensions (1" thick), thus allowing for less airflow resistance and lower CFM fans.

We indeed know (don't we?) that when using the same CFM fans, the Pro radiators actually perform the same as (or sometimes better than) the Xtreme radiators because their added thickness (nearly 2") increases airflow resistance (the specs on Harware Labs' site assume a rather theoretical 100CFM airflow through each rad; this is rather more difficult to achieve with Xtremes than with Pros). This means that the new G2 rads, with Xtreme performance but Pro dimensions, could in fact have nearly twice the real-life performance of the Pros/Xtremes. We live in hope...

I'm not good at eyeballing these things, but they don't look like good radiators for a very silent setup. They are thick and it looks like they have a high number of FPI. So, could be very good for a high CFM setup which needs low temps.

Am I missing something?

They aren't that thick at 1", but the FPI does have me curious. But if the price is right it may be a good alternative to the Thermochill PA series for cash strapped H2Oers.

Fin density looks to be very high. I don't expect them to beat out ThermoChill PAs, but the price is certainly much more attractive.

Oops, you are right. Not that thick. Could have been 2" thick like some heatercores.

looks purdy cuz of photoshop

I don't like the dimensions, weird porportions.

Fin density seems too high and little spacing from the core. Definitely not going with current trend with more focus on silent cooling

worth1000.

PS: got my swiftech, i like it. nice finish (unlike the last BI i had that chipped the paint like crazy.)

PPS: you could use a spacer , or one of those silicon vibration pads would give you something extra (not much thou).
