Stupid question: 5.25 plate dimensions
what are the dimension of a 5.25 plate dimensions? I know the 5 1/4 part, I just need the vertical measurement...

off the top of my head 42.5mm Ben
But that's normally the front bezel side... Meaning, ie for a CD-Rom drive the plastic front bezel is 42.5mm h, but the body of the drive is ~41.5mm h... If i can find where i put that damn caliper i'm going to tell you exactly :shrug:

Thanks for the tip: I was trying to remember which fan size fits behing a std faceplate. (a 40 mm).

worth noting that the 5.25 was in reference to the size of the disc, not the size of the hole in the case. Measuring a bezel here, I get 149x42.5mm, or 5 15/16" wide

Yeah, I found specs for a CD-ROM drive: they stated the width as 5 3/4".
Funny how 5 1/4 is still around... |
