I'd like to point out to the board that merc has accepted $35.72 via Paypal on Dec 24 promising hasty shipping but has not done so, and not sent back any Email communication since Dec 29.

I'd suggest no one else do business with him, and would like suggestions of possible ways to reclaim my money or exact revenge.

Alchemy

[edit - as I had hoped, it was just a miscommunication - he apparently sent it out Monday but didn't tell me so until just now. I was expecting a tracking number (as he promised) all week, and was feeling scammed by Thursday night. Or perhaps just forgotten.]

Maybe you can send Alchemy the tracking number, and he could confirm having it?

Lets not be hasty, gentlemen. This time of year is murder on the shippers. Even in non-peak times, it can take up to 6-7 days for even UPS ground to ship a package cross-country (I don't know your locations). While we would be in an uproar as a whole if anyone got ripped off, please give him a chance to fix the situation.

Please, lets give it a few days before we tie someone to a post. Far be it from me to advocate peace (I am chaos incarnate at times), but still, we all have stuff going on this time of year, and I know what its like being burglarized. It was two days of hell documenting stuff, ordering repairs, taking police statements, etc. before I could even go back to work ....

or exact revenge.
Simply asking for alternatives to your situation would have been adequate. If you're looking for "revenge" for $35, how would you behave over something really meaningful?

Perhaps if I used these smiley-faces more often such confusion would be averted.

The revenge thing wasn't serious, for chrissake. What do you think, that I wanted advice on how to "hax0r" him? Jesus.

Here's my story: I paid him, didn't get any confirmation on shipping, sent the guy two Emails over a couple days, and didn't get a response until I started posting here. He promised a tracking number on Monday and didn't send one (or even a note that he had mailed the thing, which I would have expected if he was going to change his mind and use a carrier that had no tracking number) until I posted here.

Merc, I'm sorry if I'm being an asshole, and I probably should have been more diplomatic, but when you promise someone confirmation of a delivery on a date but don't, then fall off the face of the earth for three days, people get worried.

I'm sorry your place got busted up, but I have no way of knowing if it's true or not, and I've known people to delay by making up pretty much the same story.
