Default how fast can a geforce2 gts overclock?

I currently have an elsa gladiac gf2 gts with 32 megs of ddr sgram. I can easily get it from 200/333 to 215/355 with the stock hsf. I have heard of people getting their gf2 cards much much faster...like 230/400 or something obscene like that.
I was wondering if maybe i just got a bum vid card...or perhaps does the brand make a difference. Do creative labs card oc better? or other brands....hercules, leadtek, etc.?
Also how much improvement should i expect from slapping a fop38 and ram heat sinks on my video card? 10% more on core and memory? Or is that being too optimistic?

I'm sure you'd get quite an improvement, if you don't mind losing 2 or 3 PCI slots. Seroiusly, try a slightly smaller heatsink for the GPU. GPU speed is less important than the memory clock anyway.

You may try lapping your RAM chips and heatsinks before joining the two. A lot of times they are not totally flat.

Mine seems to work fine for a while @ 230 / 366. It is a Creative Labs Annihilator. I do have a 80MM case fan hanging with zip ties from the two holes in the end of the card though.

My Asus V7700 Deluxe does 225/370 with standard cooling and no artifacts. I don't see any improvements from increasing the core speed mainly because I have crap cpus (2x562.5 Celeron 1) but also because it's memory bandwitdth limited.

Duron 1 GHz with my card : 2580 3D Mark 2001
Cel 1 562.5 with my card : 1150 3D Mark 2001

Time to upgrade.

I have an Asus V7700 that will go 227/415 with the stock cooling. The best score with 3dmark 2000 is 8489.

Weak! (j/k, I'm not dissin' ya!) I really believe I've found the threshold of the GeForce2 GTS core/mem.

I maxed my ELSA GLADIAC ULTRA out at 233/522!!! Here's the cooling I'm using:
Core: 60x60x50mm heatsink w/ Delta 60mm 38CFM
Memory: Alpha Wingfin w/ 40mm per each two (four heatsinks - each one covers two mem chips - two 40mm high-output fans centered and slightly raised above each pair of memsinks)

System:
AMD Athlon TBird 900 @ 1.125GHz (103+4 x 10.5, 1.85V)
256MB Micron MT 7.5ns SDRAM @ 141.8MHz
Abit KT7 w/ active heatsinks on Nbridge & Sbridge
+Ducted fans to keep system temp same as outside temp.

3DMark2000=9255
3DMark2001=3672

Follow-Up:
FYI: All the upgraded cooling on the ELSA GLADIAC ULTRA was applied with Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive. The CPU active-heatsink I am using is the TaiSol CGK742092 with Dual Delta 60mm 38CFM fans mounted side by side, blowing down.

Important: Even though I pushed my GPU Core and Memory up to 233/522, I don't think it was worth it to find my max 3DMark score! Even though I pushed my video card to the highest I've ever seen, I now suffer from slight image quality issues. I get these "image quality issues" when I run the nVidia drivers with their Default settings -- I've noticed them in Counter Strike. However, when I crank up my OpenGL settings the "image quality issues" go away. Kinda weird, but understandable. I would really regret it, but the fact that I got the ELSA GLADIAC ULTRA for Free reminds me that I didn't throw 500$ out the door.

Have fun OCin'!

Got my leadtek gts at 235/400 with no artifacts or anything.

It does however have 5.5ns samsung cos its a new revision .

Found this out when I noticed that there was a sticker covering the old 6ns specs.

:P, sexy card.. hardware monitoring and power/agp status.

Love it to bits

Heh, since i posted this topic, i got a leadtek gf2 gts pro with the 5.5ns chips on it. It gets up to 235/400 stable and no artifacts with stock cooling as well. Damn nice card!
I had to disable the winfox hardware monitor thing because it gets too hot and sets the alarm off :P Since the card runs fine, i don't care about the alarm.
Can't wait to get my hands on a leadtek geforce3 with 3.8ns memory...i read that those hit 540 Mhz....swoon!
