Default Cache cooling & mag drive questions

I have the Athlon Slot-A Core Cooler from Cool-Computers. I was wondering if the cache chips will need additional cooling on my 750Mhz Athlon.

Also is there anything I can put between my Mag-Drive 2 and my hard drive to block the magnetic field? It's an old 4.3 gig Western Digital and I'm not sure how well sheilded it is.

well, you should at least have come additional cooling on the cache chips. on my old 650 I used some home made cachesinks similar to what you can buy on the net under the name "ramsinks" that are used for video cards. It does add to the overclockability of the card and if you didn't notice, those cache chips get really f*kin hot when the system's on if they aren't cooled. So, yes, cool the cache chips. And about the hard drive, you shouldn't need to worry, the pump should be magneticly shielded from the radiation of which you speak, these devices have to meet prety strict guidelines when it comes to these things.

Thanks for the reply. I have an old heatsink that I am thinking about cutting in half and glueing on them. Will silicon glue be enough to hold the heatsinks on and transfer heat efficiently? I don't want to spend the money for Artic Silver Epoxy.

I don't know, I have never used silicon glue, I just used plain old thermal epoxy on mine, I hadn't heard of arctic silver @ the time. It's cheap(like $5 for both tubes and easy to apply(with a craft paintbrush.
