Power supplies
do you think a 10amp (11 amp surge) @ 13.8v power supply would cover an 8.5 amp @ 15.4V pelt 24/7?

yes...your power supply would be able to handle the load that the peltier would want to draw (8.5A), but would be providing less voltage...I would ask the manufacturer for the power curve of the peltier, or the equation, and plug in 13.8V, and see how close you are to Qmax

Actually powering a little lower like that will be more efficent...... prolly better

hrm...equations....power curves...sounds like a math class
Don't you pretty much aim to run your Volts and Amps at 80% of the Vmax and Qmax to get the best efficiency for the peltier? I guess this is roughly true for most pelts. Shrug...being the anal retentive person that i am, i'll probably get the power curves from tedist when i order my pelt :P hehe...it might be i need to aim for 83%...cackle..wouldn't want to skimp out on those 3% ------------------ 1.2Tbird @1352 air cooled. Soon to be watercooled :P |
