Help & Suggestions 4 Buying a Mac?

My Aunt is looking to buy a Mac laptop and since I get an educational discount ($100) from my school, I offered to buy it and she would pay me back.

I know very little about iBooks or PowerBooks and their capibilties. (these links should show the prices i will pay)
She is planning on a lot of digital photo editing, video editing is not likely. It does need to be portable and price is a consideration.

I was thinking the 14" or 15" screen would be the best choice.

which one: iBook or PowerBook
CPU speed: iBook 1.2/1.33 or PowerBook 1.5/1.67
how much RAM: is 256 enough? (i have a gig in all my PCs)
60gig drive?
cdrw or DVD writer? i'm thinking cdrw

why?

thanks
