I was checking out the new MCW60 on swiftnets and looking at the dimensions since I might pick on up later. I also happened to have the apogee stats up since I'm still looking for a 90 degree barb solution for my apogee. After a little staring at the dimensions of both, I realized that THEY HAVE THE SAME BASE PLATE DIMENSIONS. Anybody have both to confirm this? I'd like to see if they have any difference for modding purposes. I know that the contact patch is different sizes, but I want to know if they share the same general dimensions. If they do, it could solve my little 90 degree elbow problem in a more aethetically pleasing manner.

They're identical parts, i think. Why bother making two different parts when you can injection mould two different tops... saves a HUGE amount of money. I dont know why other companies havent done this sooner.

The C/W chart for the Apogee shows a slight improvement over the MCW-60 for the same flow rate. Testing error or a difference?

ok, i lie
the bases are essientially the same, but not 100% so. Basically there will be a few minor changes, the major one i can see is half circle indents into the side to acommodate mounting. Remember the top comes into the C/W rating too, so there could be slight differences in flow characteristics etc - they're incredibly similar. Im 99% sure the channel spec's are the same, no idea about the height though.

Thanks for the info. It's going to be a major help since I have an matx case and i don't have enough clearance for barbs on my apogee.
