I like rice. You all wait, when I get money Ill build the ultimate V8 killing 4cyl of DOOM. 2.0 liters of pure turbo hell that still maintains a smooth idle.

And I'll drop it into the integra I have now

Umm so you are buying a WRX? ( cause its all those things you just said) hehhehehe

2.0L ... blah No torque. Give me a twin turbo 3L + V6, or a big turbo on a 2.5L 4banger.

Integra's are not bad... till you start rebranding your car as something its not... its amazing how many Type-R integras there are that are not even really a GS-R. and besides Honda is all about type S now it seems.

Get a real Integra Type R if you want a Type R dont just buy the stickers and a fart pipe cause thats not a type R

No replacement for displacement, even in the age of small engine wonders you still can't beat it. After all we all saw the Motortrend Show that did the test of the new Lingenfelter (sp?) Corvette right??? Thats the 8cyl of DOOM 12.5(WC4)

I know of a rice rocket that would smoke you... actually a few of them.

Just dont go down to the chicago area and say that... a few 600 - 700Hp Supra's would play games with yer ride

Also In Calif there is a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS thats putting out in the area of 600 Hp also, and I KNOW you couldnt hold anything to that car, AWD + 600 Hp = instant traction

saying some old american iron is faster than all rice is a lil bold, and some sleeper maxima's and other cars out there CAN and WILL smoke you on demand ( there is a 450Hp Turbo 2.5L Subaru Legacy Wagon... rusted, and banged up... with a transplanted hand built engine and full dog box Fwd tranny. It scares the Fbodies all the time in Madison )

thats funny, yer right that was VERY bold statement. I also know of a couple Supras in my area (i live in So. Ca. and am quite involeved with the racing community) that are V8 killers. But my biggest advantage is they are few and far between. The $$$$ it takes to get those ponys is not affordable by the average joe.

As a matter of fact my go kart will out excellerate my buddies supercharge NSX (the only car I have gone head to head with) and cornor at over 2gs.

I'll tell what though Joe, I have driven a WRX on a SoloII course, and was totally impressed the performance. I actually tried talking my Daughter into buying one, she went for the Civic DX.

Shifter Karts!!!! YES!

Insane lil toys! I am so thinking that I need one! 5000$ to get into one, and run 10 seconds faster on an AutoX course than any car

Yeh I love my 2.5RS on SoloII courses. Depending on the course ( technical or fast) the 2.5RS and the WRX are pretty even. The RS has a big torque advantage coming out of the corners, but the WRX walks away from the RS in the straights.

the suspension geometry and such is exactly the same between the 2 cars. a Civic DX instead of a WRX?!

must be a chick thing

I'd take a WRX any day.

But, anyways, my plans are to get a B20b/z bottom end, put forged rods and pistons in it, plus a cyl brace, and a B16a Vtec head that has been machined to fit the larger bore of the B20 block. All of this will be put on a Drag Gen3 turbo at ~8psi. That should produce somewheres in the range of 300 horses to da wheels on a type-r tranny with a gs-r final drive gear. The larger displacement of the B20 block will gimme some more torque, plus the turbo adds a buttload.

I am no fan of a fartpipe. I dont drive a weedeater, I drive an Integra. I wouldnt want a type-r because you cant turbo a type-r without swapping pistons. Plus, they cost like $50,000 and with that money, I can make a type-r killing machine.

I like to do more with less. I may lose the race, but I burnt 1/3 the gas

I dont care about the fastest car. I just want a car that will run with the fastest car, and have half the cylinders plus good looks to boot!

Amen. As long as it's pretty, and fast, and lots of fun i'm all for it. I actually prefer off-road though. my stock 88 civic goes places you'd never think it could oh the memories....

Oh, and to answer brad's question about who would buy a civic over a wrx... well even though wrx's aren't extremely expensive like NSX's and Vipers and the like, they are substantially more expensive than civics, so... people without too much money i suppose. I'd go for the wrx myself though

acutally compared to a Civic EX Sedan they are within 4000$ of eachother.

Also a Impreza 2.5RS ( 2.5L N/A plant Vs the WRX's 2.0L Turbo plant) costs the same as a Civic EX, has more Hp and Torque, AWD, and a far better suspension/chassis design than a Civic.

yeah my mom got the 2.5 RS 2 weeks ago actually, only thing that sucks is it's an automatic... i almost cried when she told me that, but i got over it when i drove it. she didn't get the wrx because, well she's a mom and drives the speed limit and stuff, though i sure wish she had...

Yet another FYI:

The Subaru 4EAT's ( automatics) OWN the Sticks. Its just a fact. The Subaru Automatics contain the most advanced AWD system being used in production cars right now. The Manuals contain technology going back 20 years.

Also the Automatics can take WAY more power than the Manuals, which if you were to turbo that 2.5L plant to 300 Hp, an Auto could take it where as the Manual would shred gears.

some of the fastest WRX's and RS's around are Automatics its so funny to see people knock the 4EATS and then get spanked by them

BTW I have a '02 2.5RS with an Automatic

well since you put it that way, i guess that's pretty sweet too, but it's still not quite as much fun.

You can make it fun

since in the subaru you can select each gear ( but not like a shift-tronic) you can have some serious fun on AutoX courses, or hair pins. Manual/Automatic/2.5RS/WRX/Legacy GT all are DAMN fun to drive. Subaru Rocks

This is true... I test drove a WRX just for kicks and grins. It was quite amazing. Only down side to it was that in order to get the nice turbo ones, you have to buy a much newer vehicle. I was only in the $10k region so I couldnt afford a WRX

Man I tell you what. I love RiceRockets to a certain extent. People say these 600-700hp cars will smoke any american car. Well get off your high horses. You put the same work into say a corvette, and you can forget about it. Personally I love the s2000, don't own one but my best friend does and its awesome. You compare that, and the things you can do it...****! Same thing applies to a Z06 though.

By the way, anyone see pictures of the Ford Lightning killer It's a dodge dakota with a viper engine. There actually strongly considering mass producing.
