DFI Lanparty SATA+IDE probs...

I'm having a problem with my mobo, and this is about the only place with knowledgable peeps i trust, so here goes...

i have a DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra Rev. B (nForce Ultra400), and connected to it i have a 80gb Seagate 7200rpm SATA150 hard drive, on the number one Sata header. and i also have a LG CD/DVD-R/RW/RAM Drive set to Master on IDE1. this setup works perfectly.

Here comes the tricky part...

If i put any IDE Hard drives, set as master or slave, on IDE1 or IDE2, I cant boot.

any ideas guys?

thanks

(i am getting really, really annoyed with my computer now, i have £400 worth of Dead bits i cant return, and £300 worth of working bits that i have no use for that i cant return either, all becouse of manufacturing defects or shop problems or not being able to afford a restocking fee (in one case they want $1000(£650)!!!) and after 2 months of work and £3500 of stuff it still wont work ).
